Hi looking to dim down our strip lights in the games room they are very harsh. in this day and age can you get a drop in replacement that can change colours? led style ? is that a thing ? has anyone done anything similar thanks

You can replace fluorescents with white or warm white LED lamps but they tend to be brighter !

Some replacements (the best ones) you need to rewire the fitting to put a straight Live and neutral at one lamp holder at one end.

Generally most replacement lamps are 5ft but a 6ft LED replacement tends to sag a bit in the middle.

I have for customers converted LED lights with defussers on them to RGB LEDs by using 12v rgb tape but it is a fiddly job as you need to put a small 12v PSU inside the fitting somewhere which can be a squeeze.

If you keep the original strip lights in - you can wrap them with stage lighting gel to change colour.
