A couple of years ago things were simple, if you wanted new balls for you're machine you had two choices....

Shiny chrome - games without magnets
Dull carbon - games with magnets

Recently there seems to have been a change, new balls for 'magnet' games are now shiny and look like the chrome ones, but I have a problem, for me they get magnetised really fast.

At first I thought it was just me getting mixed up or something, but recently I have made 100% sure to order the correct ones.... and its happened again, with two different games, with balls sourced from legit UK suppliers.

So what I want to know is.....

Has this happened to anyone else?
Any idea what's going on?
Am I being an idiot?
Are my games haunted?

I am experiencing similar on my Rush, which has really strong magnet use in the Time Machine mech (catches and holds a flying ball). I have a new set of Ball Baron Polaris carbon steel balls in there, and 100 or so plays in one or two of the six are already starting to look a bit sketchy.

I’ll keeping playing with these until they give up the ghost and then I’ll try to source the dullest lumps of coal I can possibly find!

I’m sure suppliers get the balls mixed up. I ordered from a uk supplier, they were advertised as carbon, suitable for games with magnets, they arrived super shiny chrome, and lasted 2 days in my spider- man before magentising.
I just stick with Polaris now, can’t go wrong

Glad its not just me :)

Poor old CSI has seen more balls than Bonnie Blue this week, getting magnetised after a couple of games.

Will say this tho, Pulp Fiction arrived with super shiny balls (chrome coated?) been in there 6 months and a load of games, even with the VERY aggressive magnet, not a hint of magnetisation, but no idea what brand they are.

I got some Polaris balls from David Retro not long ago and they are clearly a different colour to the non-magnet "Ninja" ones. Not had any problem with them magnetising so far.

I have seen sellers on the interwebs claiming they have shiney balls for magnet games, but I assumed it was BS. I guess your Pulp Fiction proves they do exist then 🤣

Yeah luckily Dave Retro has Polaris back in stock. Sure I used them a few years back with no issues

Maybe that's why Pulp took so long, two years searching the earth for these magic shiny balls :D
