Hi

When green lock is lit on the left, and the ball goes up the left orbit, clockwise fast, say from the left flipper, more often than not, the ball seems to get to the pop up white gate thing, then pings back down. Anyone else have this issue?

Thinking of filming it leaving my phone on the glass above to see what happens as i can't quite see the mechanical reason for the ping back.

Cheers

It was a known issue and there was software compensation to allow for it happening
Cheers Nick. Didn't think to check firmware. Took a look and can see that i am on 2.4. Seems latest code is 2.6. Will upgrade to 2.6. I checked the SMB and i could not see anything about this issue being fixed, Let's hope the update does the trick, otherwise I will get the camera on it and film it.

Thanks

JB

Ran update, i see now. It does not sort the route cause of the issue of the ball bouncing back but they do give you a workaround so that when yo go through spinner and roll over, you get the ball lock count where as before you would not get the lock unless the ball sat in the hole.

Thanks.

i just downloaded what they had on the Stern site: -

SPD26164

looks like it is 261 if the file name is anything to go by, will check later.

Thanks

I've come across this issue a few times over the years when playing various spidey games. I suspect you need to either replace the up post that is hit by the ball or angle the ball guide so that the ball doesn't hit the post so square on, so that the ball is deflected in to the lock hole.

Good luck in resolving it!

Steve Ritchie tried and gave up!

I also see an issue that it is possible for the ball to go clockwise round the orbit and not hit the first roll over after the spinner. I think i sorted this though, i just blocked up the orbit…

Am kidding obviously, i bent out slightly the wire form on the right of the entrance to deflect the ball over to the left. Will see how it goes. It has a puece of card in it for now to wedge it out by about 8mm or so.

To fix the first problem though, it would need some form of clip on wire form to go on the stainless steel ball guide in the top left to flatten the curve maybe. Don’t have much tolerance for change though as we need to consider the anticlockwise orbit and the overall width of the channel. Would have been better i think to have had an angled diverter to pop out the side of the ball channel rather than a pop up plastic stopper from below the playfield.

2020 hindsight an all that…
