Stern Lightning

Hi all got an issue with a Stern Lightning pinball not sure if anyone can help point me in the right direction.

Recently bought it as a bit of a project to do it up.
The machine was working to a point but the main flippers were getting stuck.

While having a look stupidity managed short something out while looking at the relay switch for the flipper that was getting stuck.

Machine has got 7 fuses from what I can see, 1 near the flippers on the underside of the play board and then 6 on one of the boards underneath.

Found a blow fuse on the power board so replaced that but still can't get the machine working.

Now thinking that fuse may have been blow all along and not caused by shorting out the flipper.

The machine switches on, lights up and makes the beeps like is usually does but you can't start the game, flippers don't work etc.

Not sure if something else has blown or if it's down to the fuse?

Any pointers would be great.

Can post pictures / videos if that helps?

do you get anything on the score displays? if so then it’s booted, if not it’s not booting - should have 7 flashes on the mpu board led. any less tells us what’s up

Ok just having a look and no nothing on the display score.

Get 6 beeps on start up.

Took a video of it starting up, hopefully it plays ok.

The seventh flash happens when it’s checked the solenoid voltage. Is the fuse under the playfield by the flippers blown?

Check fuse F4 on the rectifier board in the bottom of the cabinet.

Perfect thanks for the pointers it was the F4 fuse that had blown, replaced that and all booting up as it should be now.

Did have another question, what is the purpose of the coil and plunger by the rectify board?

It either opens a portal to some unknown realm or is the knocker for free games and what not.

I mean im now going to be dissapointed if option 1 doesnt happen now!!!!!
