Just received this HRC I bought from eBay listed spares repairs, not much wrong with it and managed to play a few games an hour or so after setting it up! Nice! Anyway I see it has skill posts (often frowned upon) or do they all have them? So the dilema is do away with the extra buttons and fit side armour gaurd things as someon has painted the button area black! would these metal protectors even fit with it having 2 buttons? Maybe flipper buttons sit higher? Or leave the skill buttons be?

Opinions matter?

Cheers Ronnie

You could always remove the buttons and put the guard over the top, unless you want to use the skillposts.

Think the skill post was a UK only thing, I dunno really some people have a real issue with them, I would just not use them but each to their own.

Flipper button looks to be standard placement to me, took a couple of photos of my CSI with the lollypop rails fitted.

Button is about 7cm from the front and 4.5cm from the top edge of the lockdown bar

Thanks for that, never had a pin with skill posts so probably not use them, will check the position of the buttons compared to yours. I bought a set of those guards for my sega lost world but forgot from where !

Cheers Ronnie

It's not LOTR or TSSP
skill post won't make a huge difference on bottom feeders . Was ULTRA relieved to get close to 2k for one without

Bottom feeders still deserve some love! I quite like the game have owned some dull games over the years including maverick, hurricane and super Mario, I will put the time and effort in to make it nice as it can possibly be

Hi Ronnie, i have no idea why so many people get their knickers in a twist over skill posts. Turn them off if you dont want to use them and if you want to hide the buttons that`s easily done too though i wouldn`t bother unless you want to cover up cabinet wear. Good fun game, i enjoyed mine 20 odd years ago !
Cheers,
John.

Cheers John, I would not use them and I think they are disabled anyway, not sure if they are included in the software, probably, I might have left the buttons but someone has painted the area black as the pic shows

That paint will be covered by the armour which you would need to cover the holes left after removing the buttons.

But also looks like the paint might come off as bits missing around the buttons.

I would personally turn them off, remove the buttons and get some new side amour.

That will make it look much better in my opinion.

Is this a SAM game, as I didn’t think anything other than Whitestar games had skill posts?

That was my thinking too, who sells the side armour? I had a look but never found any, yes it’s whitestar tech

Save your money on new rails and just buy these

Yeah - have fitted these over Stern factory skill post buttons. They cover it !

Hi Ronnie. I have a RCT and that also has skill posts. I just left them, to be fair I do quite like playing it with the skill posts activated, mainly the out lanes rather than the centre drain.
PS, I do like a game on HRC, it the roulette wheel annoys me as it takes too long to do its thing.

Can't believe all this HRC slander. It's one of the GOATs - up there with Godzilla, AFM and Waterworld.
In all seriousness it's great fun - I love ours.

I agree with @SpiderPin .

I have never understood HRC's poor ratings. To begin with it's absolutely loaded: Backbox animation, Roulette wheel toy, Drop targets, Spinner, Slot machine toy, Physical ball lock, Liftng ramp, Ramp diverter. I've only had the chance to play it on Pinball Arcade but I think it's a fun, colourful game.

Thanks Mike, glad to hear another liker for HRC, not had time to check it over properly yet but I did like what little I played it, I just caught the batteries in time! And for what I paid for it I'm over the moon!
