Stern DMD help please

Got a replacement for Elvis as the old one is dim in places.
I understand the newer one is 5v and only 4 pins, is there some sort of conversion lead from the old plug as that has 8 pins ?
Also which way does the new one go in, sockets at the bottom or the top ?

It's all good I have sorted it, I didn't see on the underside of the display that's it's just 2 X 5v pins and 2 ground
