I've been going over the STTNG I bought recently. I hadn't planned to spend much time and money on it but so many things needed repairing/replacing that I ended up giving it a good spruce-up. The under playfield wiring was a mess with loads of bodges and I've removed a ton of screw-type connectors and taped-up joins and rewired it all including the ball trough using new connectors. I went for the black look as I think it suits this machine and had all the cabinet hardware powder-coated. I also went for black pop bumper caps, black star posts and black flipper buttons. I hate that there is no pop bumper cap on the 3rd bumper under the ramp, so cut one down so it fits round the ramp, it finishes off that area nicely. Next was the apron, it was scruffy and the decals were worn so I re-painted it satin black and fitted a new Treasure Cove decal set. Another mod I did was to fit a connector on the translite lighting panel. I hate that it sits in the way and you can't work on the left side of the machine, so now it can be disconnected and removed to allow access. Everything else went in the tumbler for a week and is squeaky-clean. I'm happy with the overall result and the game is now playing perfectly. Amongst the stuff done:
It all went back together nicely and only 1 error on first start-up which I sorted. (Broken wire on one of the canon switches).
Oh by the way Dean, I can confirm that I would happily eat my dinner of it now!!
