Complete Star Trek: The New Regeneration

Looking good. This is the tieback, if the thin wire breaks off due to vibration this will damage/kill the aux driver board. I saw a few different ways to protect it, I went for what seemed the easiest which was: de-solder everything from that lug, solder the them together and attach a short extension wire, heat shrink the junction and then attach the extension to the coil lug. Now if the wire comes off the lug the feed to the aux board won't be affected. Excuse the gauge/colour..
Ah nice one thanks!

So I had a few plastics which I couldn't source. I reached out to a company called PinballHungary, he very kindly made me 3 new plastics!

These are proper reverse printed plastic and the quality is really great. I'll definitely be using him again.

I hadn't even realised that the clear plastic was modified with a metal guide. No wonder I had issues fitting it with the new ramp. The old ramp had a gaping hole on the right side it all makes sense now.

Ok so today was a day of ups and downs.

Game booted but I had many issues to sort.

A GI string was out. This turned out to be yet another broken wire in the harness took some time to find.

I have row 8 on the jamp matrix out. Turns out a rogue 48v wire made unwanted contact... 😔

It's killed something on my spare power driver board, maybe Q drivers I bet. Possibly the chip on the MPU too. I would hasten to add my afterglow board.... Sigh at least I found it.

The right gear box is a bit whiney on the canon I may need to replace it or try and crack it open...

Had a duff bayonet where the rubber o rings between each leg had got too thin/weak it and was making contact. Killed a diode.

Had to strip back the subway system and re-organise the lamps they were in the wrong order. Next time I do one of these I'm labelling them!

Updated pics in case it helps anyone in the future.

The 4 coils not firing was down to me not plugging in j103 😆. Thanks to my mate Simon for actually figuring that out.

Here's a video of the game.

One step closer to the finish line. Repaired power driver board back in the game. Lamp row 8 is back in action.

Game is currently struggling to stage the ball. It could be the subway system. I'll check it tomorrow.

Going to mark this one complete.

Hit some issues with corrosion from the header and pins from the original MPU. Felt like BSD all over again!

Had to replace a switch for the home switch left canon too.

I 'think' everything is good other than some re-pin work I'll do on the switch headers on the MPU.

Finished this just in time to start the next one. 😆

Well done Scott.

I'm playing mine every day at the moment. Such a good game
Thanks it's actually not as bad TZ to restore. I mainly suffered from balancing the baby duty and spending enough time on troubleshooting the game. Sometimes you just need a few hours Infront of it to focus and test.

Love mine also, great game just added a different translight and side blades, did you put the custom roms in makes the game better in my opinion and the extra voice work is funny.

I'm on LX8 code, with Pinsound so I'm using the Williams Score PS Pack.
