Right guys I'm after a staple gun for doing ground braid and under pf lighting braid / wire. What ones do you guys use and what size staples to only ones I can seem to find are alot wider than the originals.

I spent ages trying to find the correct copper-coloured staples as used by the factory and finally found these. Not sure where I got them from but a Google search should bring something up:

I use any of the ones on ebay, with 4mm staples (Depth).... Same profile as above. My staples weren't copper - standard colour :)

We used to use compressed air ones at work and the saftey latch was fooked and I managed to fire one in to my chin

Interesting topic - I would like to have a staple gun for this purpose, but would hardly ever need to use it. What is the cheapest staple gun I could get away with that uses the appropriate staples (Arrow T20?).
Thanks in advance, Mark.

Thanks guys, I will look out for one. What size staples does it need to take, as I see some say things like 4mm, 6mm, etc?
Cheers, Mark

Most staples are sized by 2 numbers - 26/6, 24/6 etc. The first number is the wire gauge (thickness), the second number is the length of the leg in mm. So a 26/6 staple is made of 26 gauge wire and has a 6mm leg.

As Rudi says the width is around 8-10mm. Staples used in B/W machines to secure earth braid are copper 10mm x 26/6. To drive a 26/8 staple flush into plywood will need a heavy duty gun.

The staples used to secure the plastic glass runners are Arrow T50, and you need a big gun to get these in flush.

Thanks guys, I was thinking of using it on the GI wires below the playfield where the lamp holders are not screwed to the playfield but held in by the staples on the wires, if you know what I mean! Sometimes it would be easier to remove the staple, pull the light fitting below the playfield to replace the bulb, then re stapling it in position (the alternative would be to remove the ramps, wireforms, etc above it on the playfield).

Anyway, would something like this be suitable do you think? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ARROW-JT27-Junior-Staple-Gun-Tacker-NEW-L-K-/201005138598?

Thanks again, Mark
