Spinning T-Nut under the playfield

I'm in the process of removing the drain guide under the apron, all the screws but one are wood screws, the machine screw in question goes into a t-nut which is unfortunately spinning under the playfield, it feels like the screw has been cross threaded as I can't grip the t-nut with anything to stop it spinning whilst I try and undo it from the top.

Has anyone got any good suggestions?

You could try and wedge something between the underneath of the t nut to see if that helps, if its seized or cross threaded the onle way to get it off is to cut the head of the machine screw the tap the offending T-nut out from above as usual, seen this happen a few time on old gots where they just snapped off completeley when trying to remove

Sooooooo frickin annoying when that happens. Also try some GT85 or WD40 to penetrate it a little. Easy way is to cut it off though.

maybe ive misunderstood here, however i had several t-nuts that had smallish screws between their fins (in the recess for the t-nut still) to stop them from spinning on a couple of machines now....

****ing thing!

The fins have flattened so there's nothing to screw in to, I can't hold the nut whilst undoing the top and I haven't got anything to cut it off with

Bend the disc of the t nut up on opposite sides with a screwdriver then you can grip it with pliers. The screw/bolt will probably shear when you undo it. Removed about a dozen this way on my BK2K.

you'd get more annoyed the the screws holding Zaccaria star posts - nearlly always snap:mad:

Yep, they're the worst!!! Doesn't matter how careful you are, you're definitely shearing some off and then having to think about drilling out the pf
