Spider-Man flipper score problem

Hi all, but if a strange one to ask but every time I press the flipper button both left and right it adds 70 points to the score!!!

Is this correct or do I have a problem?

Over sensitive switch that triggers on vibration maybe? Do you hear sound triggered when you flip?

It’s every time I press a flipper on either side. It’s not correct is it?

Check your switch test - I’ll bet there’s another switch being activated.

Had a similar issue with my spider-man, 70 points scoring with flipping or banging the cabinet. Was caused by the sandman optos, which were out of alignment, due to a bent ball guide one opto is attached to

Thanks, will take a look. They have been very temperamental since I shopped it so that could be the cause.

Could be those little opto boards under the playfield, or the connectors on it.

Check ALL 3 sets of optos for Sandman, Venom ramp and Doc Ock. I had a broken opto holder on Doc Ock and this triggered the same issue you’re experiencing. It’s a cheap part and easy enough replacement rather than trying to locktite anything back together. @David retro sells these if it turns out to be the cause

Thanks for the advice guys. It was indeed the optos out of alignment. The metal side rail was also bent out of shape.
All sorted now and playing fine.
