I'm looking to move a couple of posts on my Stern Maiden and assume that being proudly chucked together in the good ol' USA everything they use is imperial rather metric? Nothing I've got fits and seems to be somewhere between 7 and 8mm.
Take it I'll have to invest in some imperial tools?

You'll find nut drivers a lot better for working on a pinball machine.

My wife bought me a bosch 2607019504 ratchet screwdriver set for Christmas and it has all the imperial nut driver bits you need together with metric for other jobs. About 20 quid on amazon and ebay.

Imperial box spanners are also a handy addition to your toolbox, especially on some of the long posts

This is a useful set as it has imperial deep sockets of all the popular sizes on a pinball together with torx bits which are sometimes needed (backbox lock plate for example).
Also the posi and philips bits.
