Very very small update ! Not so much as lost mojo for pinball more like other interests got in the way and having no time to spend ...
After clear coating the head it was time for the cab ..
Looks ok ?
NOT ... Let's have a closer look at the clear coat.
ORANGE peel , so not happy !
Only one way to sort this sand down and repeat . So I Sanded down using 1500 grit which was nerve racking . This time reducing the clear coat . This time it came up a really nice flat mate finish
I so hate clear coating now arrrrrr (sorry no pic as I am a little ....) Yep back sanding again .This time I set my gun up with more pressure , still getting a mate finish , so changed my gun after the first coat from a 1.2 mm , to a 1.4 mm . Wow what a big difference that made for me it went on loads better . By this time it was about 8 at night , good job I had my lights on , anyway here is a pic just after I pushed it back in , this time it has a nice shiny finish on it

White vinegar and salt time to get ride of some more rust . Dumped some earthing connections things in the vat .No pic of before I put them in the tub ,but here is a pic when I pulled one out 
used a small brass wire brush , the ones you clean up spark plugs on your car !
cleaned up the right side ,now for the left ,then flipped it round and start on the backside !!
They all clean up like new , time for a cup of tea .
Came back and WTF
was not expecting that !! Don't know what happened weather it was a reaction to the wire brush or what , but a quick polish sorted that out!!
This is a pic showing the rust that came off the little things .
placed a few items in the cab to see how it looks !
As you can see I spayed the base black , to be honest I wish I didn't spay it at all and left it as it was ,but it's done now ,so it will have to grow on me

A little bit of a update !
Form the above picture shows the speaker I was intended to fit but I noticed it was only a 4ohm speaker not a 8 ohm Do'h back to the drawing board !! Just can not find these speakers in England anymore but you can find load's in the states .I have two 8 ohms speakers a really rusty (took know pic of it because it was that bad ) one and a not to bad one but with a big hole in it but works pretty well
so we clean the rusty one up to see if it cleans up ,and it did ,than we gave it a bit of a spray with some paint
its missing it's writing on the magnetic ,will have to think of how to do that !
Anyway a bit more work on the cab moving wires the old one to the new
.After cleaning and polishing more bit and bods it was time to fit the new side rails I bought from pinball center , as you may or may not know the new bach does not fit 
so cut the story short I ended up fitting the old ones back on after a bit of TLC 
and them the lockdown bar to

Time to fit the Light board , well I decide not to fit the one it came with so i fitted the one I had spare which was in better condition 
Quick clean with one stop pinball white powder
and it comes up pretty nice !
Next step is to fit the door on the head and it’s all done ! ….NOT

Refitted the surrounding lights frame and then the back glass so the last job was just slide the front glass in , so I thought .
the glass did not fit so out came my Chisel and take a Shaving off by hand 
luckily you didn’t see this bit ,so it was just a little paint up and them it’s all done !
still have the apron to redo ,just not decided to go chrome or kep it black ,so going to make up this as complete now as I have surf side waiting in the wings to be brought back to life !!

Ok my plan is
1 complete the Playfield
2 refit it back into the cabinet
3 get the machine 100% back working
4 take it out and start on the repairs to the cabinet
All coils, lamps mec's are still connected to the loom were possible !
Hope this is the right way to do it , if not ,then ops!!

Started cleaning out the excess of clear coat out of the star switches View attachment 59664 asked the wife to buy me a metal nail file from boots to do this job
