I have a Sorcerer here that played fine but now it boots up and just sits there with all the lights on and nothing comprehensible on the displays, also the flippers work when its just in attract mode, press the start button and nothing happens.

I pressed the test button on the CPU and 5 flashes up which (according to the manual) should be fault - Blanking-signal stuck, coin door closed, memory protect circuit faulty or U18 CMOS ram faulty.

Does this fault sound like any of the above could be the culprit and which should I start with?

Any pointers gratefully received!

Thanks in advance.

Matt.

So do you think I should get a new chip as a first guess, the link (thanks for that by the way) doesn't seem to indicate how to fault find.
