Complete Sopranos

My 4th and final Sopranos, I will not be selling this one, I wish I kept the last one, but never mind.
This was described as a nice clean machine.......
Nothing seem to work well, everything is stiff or just not working.
Even the dmd is flickering all over the place and going dim.
So just going to do a full playfield strip and spend a bit more time on this one.
I have ordered pretty much everything today from full plastic kit, colour display, new safe and all the other bits.
The good news the playfield looks OK so it's worth spending some cash on it.

Just polishing today, its takes so long, but I find it therapeutic

Have now started to rebuild the playfield, lots of parts have come, but will be a few days on the big Marco order.

Plastic kit turned up today, so a few hours spent sorting the Safe out.
Every Sopranos I have had the Safe always has problems, once you replace the liners,springs,switches it will work like new and register every hit.
Have also replaced the Safe as they are always beat up on the corners.

Does not take too long to polish these ball guides up a bit.
I just use a bit of emery cloth to remove all the ball marks and then a polish.

Got some more wheels coming tomorrow, not a lot left of them now so started replacing switches.

I know most of the people on here go for comet LEDs, but they are coming out and I like the premium ones from Pinball LED.



Just when you think you have made a list of everything you need you discover more problems.
The sound quality is terrible, never going to be great on these older games, but all the speakers have damage.
Who does speaker kits these days ?
I only wish somebody would do a pinsound mix for this game...

I might as well put a better quality set in and hope somebody one day does a sound mix on Pinsound.
When I did this with Elvis it made such a difference, but no point doing it with the same bad quality Soprano sound files.
If I knew how how to sample bits from the show I would have a go myself.

Looks like the fish has had a custom paint job in the past
I did just ask Rudedog if he could paint it as I thought it looked too purple, had no idea he did it 6 years ago.

Not much to report, just had a few bits welded which have come apart.
Taking all the cabinet metal work to powder coaters now, will go for a nice metallic red again.
Still waiting on Marco and Retro Refurbs orders.
Then will just need new speakers and lights to finish.

I could not see it on your site, the original has a slight bend in it, I could only find ones that looked straight.
I still can't find plastic spacers anywhere, so I will have to do one last order with Marco.
The slingshot spacers were missing and had some homemade tube on them.
If you have any of these grey spacers please can you let me know

This is what somebody did, but was way too thin, I have not found anything the correct thickness.
I will have to wait for the next Marco order and get some.

It's getting close, every solenoid and flasher now works along with every switch.
Colour display has gone in, I'm tempted to put a pin sound in.
Still waiting for the new translite and side blades from Retro Refurbs, makes a huge difference the black/white translite with red t-molding.

More LEDs are on the way, I forgot to order white, I binned all the old ones, only had red and green left to test the GI
The white should be here tomorrow, I never do crazy colours

That's a nice looking sopranos, it's a game a enjoy, for me personally one of the last of a great run of the early 2000 sterns starting with Simpson pinball party and ending with this. Enjoyed all the ones in-between including T3. Bada bing!
