That's it. Made up my mind (for today at least - see bottom of message). Decided to sell to try to get a mm and see how it goes.
So here we are. Three pins in varying condition. Pictures to follow.

Sm:
Bought from this forum about three years ago. All leds so really bright but not too much in your face. Good cabinet and playfield. Tiny bit of wear on doc ock hole. Got a cliffy for it to make sure it doesn't worsen but haven't fitted it yet as I have had no need to lift the glass for other reasons. 3k.

Dw:
Have had this for more than 12 years. It is actually the first game I ever bought. Cabinet well faded but I bought a set of decals from PeteB for it and they are included in the sale. Time expander protected with cliffy. Mostly led to brighten it a bit. One fault on start up: one of the IR on the time expander does not register. Bought the replacement board from ph but not fitted yet. No topper on this one as some were built like that. 1.65k with decals or 1.5k without decals.

Lw3:
Bought from this forum a couple of years back. Definitely a player's game at best. Cabinet planked. Part led, Andy N took the other leds out to get it going! All working now. No fault but it is rough. 0.85k.

Games are in Derby in two separate locations (home and work). Martin been to both.

I might retract the ad tomorrow if I change my mind as I am really torn. Apologies if I do! I love buying but i hate selling and this is half of my collection disappearing.

Pictures for the LW3 (at my work).
Pictures of SM, DW to follow tonight when i get home.

Sm - sold pending payment and collection
Lw3 - sold and collected

To be fair the game is quite good at telling you when it is about to move the expander. For example in test mode it forces you to press both flippers to move it up and down. It forces you to have your hands away from it. Good design.
But yes fingers would get chopped if not careful.

Unless the switch is linked out :)

I am sure that Bally's FMEA would have captured this when they were designing the game.

Operators tended to remove that switch that was against the glass as it was annoying and just tape the switch up somewhere. I know my time expander used to shoot up and down with just opening the coin door with or without the glass. Still I wouldn't put my hands anywhere near it unless the power was off.

I think the one on mine is still on and working as you get a warning every time you lift the glass but nothing moves.
Having taken the expander out a couple of times it is quite big and it would do a lot damage. Not helped by the cliffy protectors that give it a special 'edge'.

Anyway any love for dw out there? Got approached by 'insert well known name here' yesterday morning saying he was interestes but haven't heard anything since. It is still up for grabs here before I shift it on eBay.

Hmm I am interested in DW but not sure if this table might be too much to bite off for my first table. I'm good with mechanics and soldering so that doesn't put me off but not sure it's within my budget I set myself for the amount of work it requires. What would it be worth of all the issues were resolved? What would it cost to ship down to Swindon? I really wanted a Data East Star Wars because that's what I used to play in my youth but I think I have missed the boat on one of those. One year they were £1k, then I blink and they are £2.5k plus. Let me know if there's any possible movement on price to swing my mind.

The cost of parts for repairs if you can do it yourself is approximately 50p. So add that to the value
If you're handy with a soldering iron it's an easy job.
