Hi all

Can somebody please tell me whyyou Bally Speak EASY has 3 stack slingshot switches rather than just the standard 2?

I bought some to replace the broken ones and only just noticed!

Can I replace with the 2? What's the point and reason for the 3 stack?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ps. Look how dirty the underneath is. Never been touched on 35 years.

Do you mean the extra blade? It's just a stiffener. Probably an eos switch. Yes you can just use the two bladed ones.

Here is another pic

It does seem that all the slingshot switches have 3 blades. Some are not soldered but others are like the one pictured. Also why has it got a resister?

Can I still use a 2 blade one?

I think you're referring to the third solder tab. The tab is just there for somewhere to mount the required diode. The slingshot only appears as one switch to the cpu so only requires a single diode mounted on one of the switches with three tabs. The second switch should have two tabs as it is just an extension of the other switch and utilises the same diode. If you use a 2tab switch instead of a three tab then you'll have nowhere to connect the diode to the wiring. At a pinch you can leave it dangling, but a three tab switch would be better.
