hi guys, just a quick post to let you all know.

major thanks to "johnthehappyguy", for hosting last years open. it was a great couple of days pinballing.

this year it will be happening on the 24/25 november 2012.

as well as pinball, we will also have the best candy and classic cabs we can get our hands on !!!

this is a non profit event, after costs all the rest is going to charity.

we need pinball pledges, we will cover the costs to and from the event.

its hoped to have an event similar to, play expo but we may not have the retro stuff. im just about to head out and get all the details on the venue. but i will be back after i have a pint, err get the details.

cheers.

Your not even a little funny Stormy.

ok chaps some more details.

it will be held in a nice hotel called the coachman, in a place called kilsyth, google postcode g65. there will be a maximum of 200 tickets for this event. tickets will cost £10 per day, all machines will be set to freeplay. there are bus and train links to croy, this is on the main glasgow/edinburgh line.

i will do a bit more when i get back im of to sutherland in the highlands.

i will hold back about 40 tickets for forum members, this is purely to ensure that members get a shout. i fully expect all tickets to be sold. tickets can be bought direct from the coachman using visa etc, but no paypal. i will find someone to take paypal payments.

we will be having a raffle too, so if you want to donate anything let me know.

we could do with some pinball pledges, we can uplift and return all machines in a hired luton with a tail lift. we might be able to offer other incentives, but it will probably amount to fuel payments.

lets get scotland on the events map !!!

i tried changing the top bit, but it wont do it, or cause im ****e at it, anyway.

the scottish pinball open

and arcade expo

will be held on 24/25th of november

in the coachman hotel

4 parkfoot st

kilsyth

G65 0SP

telephone 01236 821 649

website www.coachmanhotel.com

the hall is approx 2,100 sqft, with a bar "similar to daventry". we are hoping for 30 pinballs, although this might be a few too much, we are in dire need of pinball pledges. we have enough pinballs to hold the open, but want more !!! the venue will only take 200 people, so im thinking 70 machines should be fine. the other cabs will be video cabs, ranging from the very best classic williams cabs, to the more recent japanese candy cabs. we will be holding a raffle and all donations are most welcome. there will also be high score events on both pinball, sit down driving cab, and video cab, more info to follow. make no mistake this will be a cracker !!! if all goes well, we will have live internet feeds, more info to follow. for people traveling by train we should have transport lined up, to and from the venue.

you heard it here first.

i have now got security lined up, still waiting for more updates. can i ask what is a green smiley ????

ok anuvver update.

we are down approx 40 tickets in advance sales.

the raffle prizes are also coming in. hopefully we will have a fully working jamma cab as part of the raffle too, but i need to find a cheapy first. if you want to donate anything, then post here and gain brownies, or pm me for a more discreet offering. remember its for charity,

cheers.

Does that mean you have sold 40, or you have 40 for sale?

we have 4o tickets pre-sold. we have a total of 200 for this event. im hopefull that most/all tickets will be sold prior to the event. i have some good guys helping out with posters etc.

this is going to be a cracker !!!

i will be taking the sales wagon to manchester, where i will also be hassling the pinheads :suspect: so beware of a wee guy with long black/grey hair, usually found at the bar or out the back doing some origami
rolleyes-1.gif
but possibly/likely i will leave negotiations until we hit the 24 hour bar, yowsa.

You Southern pussy's can't even get up to Manchester for the Northern Lights, Nevermind Scotland.

the charity details, Watch Us Grow is a Company Limited by Guarantee. Charity No. SC030051.Company No. SC297963. VAT Registration No. 743 4356 33

its for adult/slow learners.

its a charity close to my heart, my mum has shed many a tear over some of these guys and girls. she has worked for this charity for years since she retired. it gives many of the workers a sense of meaning/worth. unlike some of todays scroungers, these guys are more than happy to put something back in to society, albeit in a small way.

lets make this 1 to remember

if any southern pussies want to fly down, i will ensure that you get picked up at the airport glasgow/edinburgh or prestwick. without players this will be a pretty bland affair, i could just hassle the locals to attend

we want to see and play against some of the best players in the uk. scotlands best players will be out in force for this. we will also be showing some of the most wanted video cabs in the uk  both classic and candy. im trying to keep costs down without compromising the event. we have all things including the venue free at the moment, so just the vans to pay for, although i am looking for sponsors to cover this.

if you want to come to this event, then make the effort !!!

What are the opening/closing times?

I'm not far from Scotland... Plus driving that way so sooo much better than driving the other way down the M6.

10.30 until probably 8, both days. although we will probably hold the scottish open, on the saturday. if you are in anyway inclined to play videos, you will have a great weekend away. i havent posted any of the cabs yet, but we will have some very nice stuff out for this event. im taking about a dozen cabs to manchester, these and many others will be out for the weekend

I'm interested..Do you have a number I can call?

Please PM it me, thanks.

I know a contact in Scotland who has bought a number of Stern tables of me.

I could word him up too..

it is being held in a decent hotel, there are more nearby. its not as pricey as england, there is a plce about 15 minutes drive, with rooms at £20, put pretty basic, lol. i can probably get a reduced rate at the coachman for a 2 night stay.

news just in.

i can now confirm replay events will be giving us support  we just need some more pinballs and its full steam ahead

We will willingly dispaly any posters etc that you have for this event, just hand to one of the crew when you get to the NLP..

Your more than welcome to post something on our facebook page about it... http://www.facebook.com/NLPinball
