Greetings from Scorbit HQ!
Hello my flipping friends! We here at Scorbit are bursting at the seams with exciting news to share! We've got a
fresh new look, new hardware, a new app, new tools and features, and an incredible team working hard to get everything dialed in just right.
Let's start from the top and work our way through. There is a lot to cover!
What’s New?
In addition to the features you've come to love and expect, such as leaderboards, live game play, ScorbitVision, challenges, achievements and more, we are expanding our offering in new, fun ways to get even more people playing.
Digital Payments, Competitions & Jackpots
With the new Scorbit platform, we’re excited to be rolling out a new way for arcades, bars, or any public venue with pinball to offer competitions to pinball players. Now, what if there was always a tournament happening at your favorite arcade bar? What if you could submit entries to the tournament on your own time? What if you could win real money by playing pinball? With Scorbit, now you can. Players can now enter into live, ongoing, asynchronous competitions with real money jackpots, seamlessly handled by Scorbit’s integrated digital wallet and payouts system. This comes with a convenient way for players to pay for games digitally in participating venues, along with our operator and venue features (more on this below).
The plan is to roll out initially in the United States and then expand to Australia, UK and Europe in 2026.
All-New Native App
This new approach is all made possible within the new Scorbit v2.0 Mobile App. Now available for download in the
Apple Appstore and
Google Play. Built from the ground up natively for iOS and Android, our app now runs smoother, feels more “game-like,” and lets you engage with all of Scorbit’s classic features plus new features:
- Tap in instantly via NFC with the Scorbit Tap Pad
- Pay for games (coin drop) and competition entries via digital payments
- Track winnings and leaderboards
As this is a brand new app, we will be releasing features and bug fixes frequently. If you don't see something you would expect, chances are it will be arriving in an update soon. Adding features like competitions, payments, and new ways to interact with machines will certainly be a work in progress this year! We’re extremely excited for the new mobile app, as it lays the groundwork for us to build the premiere connected pinball experience for pinball players around the world. Be on the lookout as we continue to bridge the classic Scorbit v1.0 features like Achievements and Post-Game Analysis and continue to innovate with new ways to connect with your pinball friends and find new ways to compete together!
Next-Gen Hardware
The Scorbitron remains the brains of the operation, an has now evolved to a much more advanced device. Taking up 1/3 of the space and 1/10th of the power, it radically increases the reliability and performance of connected machines. Now it sports both WiFi as well as a traditional Ethernet port (I'm looking at you Karl and Neil) for those locations or pop-up events still living in the 90’s.
We already worked on most machines, but you asked, and we listened! Our refresh of the CPU and DMD Probes now unlock 89% of vintage electronic pinball machines instantly, reading and writing directly to the game’s CPU and memory. Translation: more machines online, more reliable data, more fun. Change all the settings on all the machines in your whole arcade to tournament settings and back again. Pull real-time data from a machine that was born before there was an Internet. Track revenue, pull analytics, start a game… all from your fingertips. Your DMD display will now power up instantly! The CPU probe is designed to work on all 6800, 6802, 6808, 6809, and 6502 CPUs and we'll continue to expand the feature set to take advantage of the new controls.
So what games does our new hardware support? I'm glad you asked!
- Bally AS-2518-17/35/144
- Alltek Ultimate MPU
- Barakandl (Weebly/NVRAM) early Bally/Stern
- Stern MPU 100/200
- Williams System 6, 7, 8, 9, 11
- WPC (Alpha, DCS, DMD, WPC-S, 89, 95, etc.)
- Data East Version 1, 2, 3, 3b
- Atari Generation/System 1/2
- Gottlieb System 80/80A (with socketed CPU)
- Gottlieb System 3 (with socketed CPU)
- Sega
- Stern Whitestar
- Stern SAM
- Stern Spike 1
- Stern Spike 2
...and probably more! We will be releasing specific kits to all these games in coming weeks. Obviously all of this new MPU support comes after a tremendous amount of R&D spanning over a decade, though we plan to continue to expand our offering in the future as well. For direct software based integrations, like the soon-to-be-released Pulp Fiction from Play Mechanix/CGC, Funhouse 1.0/2.0 from Pedretti, and the recently announced The Big Lebowski from Dutch Pinball, all you need is a Scorbit Tap Pad and a software update! Finally, all the Spike 2 owners will be happy to hear that a Scorbitron is no longer required to connect their games to Scorbit! More details to come on that, so stay tuned!
Scorbitron v2 Now Shipping!
Arcades, Bars and other public pinball venues can now connect to Scorbit without having to buy Scorbit hardware! Participating venues, whether they are free play, coin drop, hybrids, tokens, or whatever, now can get all the hardware they need with no money down. Let me repeat that: Venues and operators with machines in public locations can get Scorbit devices and access to the Scorbit Platform with no money down for hardware!
If you have 3 machines or 50 machines, our plan is to offer the hardware to you as part of the Scorbit network! We're going to start with select locations as we beta test all our new features, but slowly we will make the system available to everyone. If you're interested in becoming a participating venue or operator, more information and how to get in touch with us can be found on our
website.
For Home Collections, the Scorbitron 2.0 is available for purchase starting at $359 and with it you’ll receive the new Scorbit Tap Pad and any necessary probes to make it easier for players to check into games, access to all the great Scorbit casual player features and of course, ScorbitVision for Leaderboards and Live Scoreboards to make your home arcade the best in the neighborhood. Best of all, you’ll never have to pay extra for anything, once you purchase a Scorbitron, your access to Leaderboards and Scoreboards is free forever. No subscriptions, no licenses, no hassle.
Tap to Play
As mentioned above, we’re excited to introduce a new way to connect with a pinball machine, the Scorbit Tap Pad. Now when you’re ready to play a Scorbit enabled machine, just walk up to the game and tap your phone to the colorful pad located on the machine and tap to play! Powered by NFC, this new method allows you pay for games, claim your player slot and enter competitions. No more fumbling for quarters or trying to load a QR Code and line it up to the camera. Just one tap, and you’re in!
Scorbit Console for Venues
For arcade and bar owners who join the Scorbit network, we’re launching Scorbit Console: a management platform for managing game pricing, such as scheduling “happy hour” discounts, running competitions, and tracking revenue. Best of all, when combined with our new CPU probes, the Scorbit Console will allow you to save configurations across groups of machines. Soon you will be able to change all the configurations of the machines at once to saved configurations, such as tournament settings or free play, all with the touch of a button. It’s like giving every machine a smart upgrade and enabling remote access to the machines. No more having to fumble with the service menus! It’s also where venue owners will be able to configure and deploy ScorbitVision, our industry leading Leaderboard and Live Scoreboard system to power TVs and monitors in their venues.
More information can be found here and any interested arcade owners or operators can get in touch – we’d love to work with you!
Venues, Collections and VPINs
We know that our new app has a few changes (and with them, new bugs) that might appear confusing. First and foremost please know that no data is lost, we're just retooling the user interfaces.
The concept of private venues are no longer a thing. We heard loud and clear from our users that all the location sensitivity was problematic. Instead, our new map features and searches work with public venues (shout out to Pinball Map, with whom we share data). To protect the privacy of our users, their personal information and home location was just unnecessary for common home use applications. So that leads to the question, what happened to my machines in my private venues and game rooms?
Those machines still exist, only now they have moved to a new section of the app called “Collections.” Each user now can have their very own collection, which includes all the machines they own, regardless of their location. Now if you're visiting your friend's game room, look no further than their user profile, where you will have access to all the same machines and leaderboards as before, except now there is no need to store a personal address in the Scorbit venue database! Just tap the Machine icon on the Profile tab bar and you will find everything you need.
If you have a semi-private venue, like clubs and public locations not in Pinball Map, all you need to do is reach out to Scorbit via our
support desk and we’ll get it sorted for you. Now Scorbit includes Events, which in turn can also contain machines. Expect more features on the machine organization options soon.
Furthermore, with the new Scorbit Tap Pad, your players can instantly navigate and associate themselves with any machine, including in your collection. We're still experimenting with details of these features, so bring on the feedback! At the moment, we would expect that any user can see another user's machines if that user follows you in the app. Watch this space as we try some new things out!
ScorbitVision works the same as before. Machines you had on a board should still appear. However, the new ScorbitVision v2 is going to be released in stages, with faster performing and better styled leaderboards, all available through the Scorbit Console! We will follow up with more announcements around ScorbitVision soon.
VPIN users fear not, we know that pairing and QR codes are important and they will be restored to full function soon. The exciting feature coming is the new VPIN SDK 2.0, which will include a new way to pair all of your tables with a single GUI companion that handles all the networking! This will also include support for ROM games as well as custom tables! Both players and developers will have a much easier time engaging with the Scorbit platform. We're hard at work getting that ready, so please be patient while we complete our testing and make the VPIN experience far more reliable and smooth for everyone!
What It All Means
Scorbit isn’t just about pinball. We’re laying the groundwork for a global network of connected games—from Pac-Man to skee-ball, from pop-a-shot to future titles yet to be invented, Scorbit will be there to connect players, power competition and help drive business for the arcades and recreation places that we love to spend time at.
For
players: it means your favorite solo games become social, competitive, and rewarding.
For
venues: it means new revenue streams, more engaged players, and a reason for fans to keep coming back.
Where Can You Find Scorbit?

We’re excited to begin rolling out our new platforms to arcades, bars and venues around the United States in late 2025. Coming very soon you’ll be able to enter competitions and use Scorbit to the fullest at some of the best spots in the USA:
- Lynn’s Arcade: A Pinball Parlor and Can Slangery – Seaside, CA
- LITT Pinball Bar – Minneapolis, MN
- Funspot – Laconia, NH
- Rullo’s – Brooklyn, NY
- Quarter Bandits Arcade – Spring Hill, TN
And this is just the beginning. By the end of 2026, we want Scorbit jackpots lighting up bars, arcades, and family fun centers around the world. If you’re an operator or an owner of an arcade and you’d like to join the Scorbit Network,
please get in touch!
Send Feedback!
As you can probably tell, we’re very excited here at Scorbit HQ. For our current Scorbit users who have supported us for the past few years, we want to thank you for hanging in there with us. As with any new launch, especially one as complex as what we’re building here, there’s bound to be bugs or things missing or things we haven’t thought about. From our folks who use Scorbit to manually enter scores, to using it for tournaments, to using ScorbitVision for streaming or for Leaderboards, to our vibrant VPIN Community – we want to hear from you! If you find any problems with the new Scorbit or have any feedback for us at all, please reach out to us at
