Scared Stiff - Fitting new ramp Help !

Hi Guys,

So the spider kickout part of the boney beast ramp was well smashed so I thought it would be a good idea to replace the whole ramp. so I ordered one of these as everywhere else seemed to have no stock at the time: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271968457...l?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=271968457073&_rdc=1

I removed the old one, drilled the rivets, fitted new transfer to new ramp and re-riveted the two optic boards and the ball exit, all good so far. now fitting...

It doesnt appear to fit correctly around the spider hole. It sits on top of the other ramp and wont go low enough to fix the bolts back in, the 2 support brackets that fit to the mounts holding the boney ramp by the spider hole, the screw holes dont line up, also the flap that swings underneath that is supposed to rest on the ramp doesnt reach the ramp so just hangs down. Either Im doing something wrong / the previous owner has mislocated the other ramp underneath, or the ramp is a bad repro......

Anyway - is there any chance someone could take some close up pictures of the area around the spider exit ?, in particular where the ramps meet ? and would someone be able to measure the hole in the ramp where the flap sits ?

Many thanks and sorry for the ramble !

Kev.

Could you take a pic with a big arrow pointing at where the problem is - I'm not sure I follow from the description above? I can take a few pics for you tomorrow once it gets lighter, I tried now, but they are coming out crap because it's dark. The hole is 5cm long in the upper ramp on mine, and the flap overhangs by a few mm so no chance of it dropping through.

Thanks guys. The hole measures correct. If i put the old ramp back it fits, so im guessing the new ramp is slightly taller.

Ok but i think that will make the boney ramp even lower. Its already resting on the ramp underneath !

I think there may be also something wrong with the way the ramp underneath is mounted

My boney ramp almost touches the lower ramp, maybe only 1mm off it. If you measure the depth of the new ramp, is it the same as your old one?

Looks like the new ramp is 2-3mm taller :(
Also does the fitment of the lower ramp look correct in this photo ?

Mine is just like that from what I can see. At first I was thinking the plastic brackets on the ramp that the bolts go through to connect it to the hex-bolts looked thicker, but I just double checked and they are actually just like yours. I'm guessing the manufacturer has just made the ramp too deep - 2-3mm clearly makes a big difference in that kind of space..refund time :(

Does yours also have the optic board resting on the ball guide exactly as above ?
