My tz came with three new rottendog boards installed (motherboard, flipper board, clock board), with the originals boxed up as spares. These are all about 6 months old. The seller told me that the original boards were ok, the motherboard looked a little cooked around j121, but the flipper board looked fine. I know the two part clock boards give trouble, get far too hot etc, so I never want to use the original

About a month into ownership, the right main flipper died mid game today. The upper right flipper was ok. I contrast this to 15 years of addams family ownership where nothing more serious has gone wrong than a fuse or plastic link.

I was told a couple of weeks ago by a pinball repair guy that the rottendog boards were rubbish and I ought to remove all of them and put the originals back in, and to get a better clock board. He advised to sell them now on eBay , before they broke down. As the rottendog boards all worked fine, I just left alone as I assumed that new diodes and power transistors were no bad thing

When I looked online today there seems to be widespread praise for altek boards but very mixed reviews on Rottendog.

I checked that the right flipper opto switch was working, it is. I have never repaired a board before, so I just replaced the rottendog with the original Bally board

My pinball is working properly again now. Hence I would just like to make folk aware that concerns about rottendog boards may be justified. I will see if it can be repaired under warranty .....

Had a few Rottendog boards.
Worse one was recently when a new DEast flipper board died after a few hours at a get together here, that was kindly fitted by @mufcmufc whilst I was working on my Centaur.Aint got round to looking at it yet. Also had a Gott driver that misbehaved in my BH,years ago but they sorted that.A dmd driver has been in my gnr for a few weeks now,so far so good. They were helpfull when I wanted to convert my Rottendog Williams power board to a DE one,tho I then blew it up when I had the gnr problems!!
Alltek in my Centaur seems good,Pascal's boards are pheominal,Jim's new sys 80b going strong,a Ni-Wumpf boards?Meh-code has issues

I've got a Rottendog display board in my Torpedo Alley, and it has been nothing but trouble. The tracks are unbelievably thin and poorly laminated to the board, so it makes repair without lifting tracks very tricky, even for an experienced repair person
