Resistor value on a -35 mpu board

I’m building up a -35 mpu board. R21 on the schematic gives it as 36k oms. I have a scrap board that has R21 as 24k oms. I contact a mate who checks a couple of his boards.
One has a 24k resistor, the other has a 36k one. 12k difference is a lot in my opinion, so which one do I install cos at this moment in time it don’t look like it matters.
 
either will work, its on the display interrupt generator NE555 circuit. the lower the resistor then shorter the pulse time out of the ne555. but to be honest, there wont be much difference between the 2.
