Resilient rubber rings

Are there any types of rubber rings that are more resilient and will last longer? On WOZ the 2" ring at the top right of the playfield was ready for snapping after less than 400 plays. I had a spare which I have replaced it with (took me about 2 hours with one thing and another :confused:) but if there is something more resistant to breakage I'd like to try it next time. It is out of sight so doesn't matter what colour it is. Are black more durable than white? The manual says it is black but it was white.

Cheers, I'll have a read. Think I'll try silicone or black rubber next time. All the other rubbers are black and the manual says it should be black so maybe a mistake at the factory.

EDIT: Forgot to say, can't see any branding on it.

Does that mean that Phil will be stocking silicone rings soon?

Black, white and transparent would be good with posts in the full colour range. The Titan range nice but perhaps just too impractical to stock.
 
yes, i don't want a thousand product lines for just rubber rings. If there was one universally accepted good quality ring then I would swap over to it but I am not offering 10 different colours or types of the same size ring.

Fair enough, thanks.

Red, blue & black seem to be the common colours for Flippers. Though i also have Greens.

Superbands & traditional rubber the most common types. Silicone doesn't seem well established yet.

Same broken ring again (giggity) tonight on my WOZ, and annoyingly it was during one of my better games. The rubber came off (giggity) and trapped the ball (giggity). I mega-nudged causing a foul. Time to try black next time to see if they last longer (giggity?).
 
Ive fitted silicone flipper bands on all my machines to try out as a cheaper alternative to the PU bands. The colours look just as nice as the PU, and they feel somewhere in between rubber, and PU in the springyness department
 
New black rubber fitted. It doesn't feel too tight but could try the next size up if this one breaks, or maybe try silicone. Ye Olde Mirror on a Stick (with light) is always handy to have around. Let's see how long this one lasts.

It could be just the angle of the pic ,but the rubber look's more stretched on the side where the ball would make contact with it !!
This maybe the course ,try and even the thickness of the rubber all round and see if that makes any difference !!
