Replacement Cabinet

Sounds fixable. as long as it’s not warped due to water/damp and isn’t rotten or badly woodwormed, then i’d repair it.

As @AlanJ mentioned above, most things are fixable. Even badly damaged corners can be rebuilt with a bit resin/filler.

From what I’ve read and seen online, even newly built cabinets will still need some work before it’s good enough to re-decal. If you have the time, you can get an original cabinet looking pretty good again.

Nice dude, yeah I think the long term fix and redecal approach is the way to go!

The guy in Stratford used to ask for your old cabinet so he could copy it by taking it apart (but I saw someone in his area selling used cabs).

I saw a balls up he did with an Addams cab that Pinball Heaven then paid to have decalled up. Put in the playfield and the glass fell out Someone else had a backbox made and the translite wouldnt fit. Again after decals!

Do know quite a bit about woodworking/machinery. I come from guitar buklding - my dad was a capenter and wood machinist.

The cab is NOT HARD TO MAKE. You need a CNC cutter. No point in doing it with nothing less.
Then a table router minimum to get the andled joints.

Speakers can then be routed for whatever size and position they need to be in, along with transformer supports etc.

In todays market - I think if a cab was £600-700 then that is about right. It is £150 in wood. With a CNC router its a days work.

Manny made some wonderful cabs but I had a Pin2000 cab made by him and the playfield did not fit. In the end it was sold to a vpin guy for £200. We all make mistakes.

Many would be on £2K a cab now. His skills are amazing, but his ego is way bigger.

yeah similar in the corners , are you documenting the repair on here or is someone doing it for you?
I’ll post pics when it’s done. It’s with Norfolk arcade specialists. We’ll see how it turns out!!! I’m sceptical

I know a guy who would make cabs if people want them

Nice one, oh that sounds interesting can I ask why you haven't went down that route for yours?

Simply down to money. I can’t afford a new one so been quoted £5-600 to restore my one including the decals applied.
I was quoted about £800 to get one made but then needed £200+ on decals.
If you’re hell bent on a new one I’ll speak to my mate and see if he’s still up for the task. You’d be the first so set up costs would be more and you’d be a Guinea pig. He’s a joiner and would be using Williams blue print plans on a cnc machine so you’d like to think it’d be pucker.
