Repairing broken plastics

Has anyone tried this stuff to repair cracks and breaks in plastics?

I've been using Ambroid ProWeld but find that the repairs don't hold under a ball impact.
In any case ProWeld is no longer made.

I have heard of it,but never used it,not sure how it would react with the paint on the broken plastics
