Hi guys,

I seem to be growing an ever increasing collection of legs with rusted in leg levelers. As I'd like to get all my machines setup properly I need to sort them out.

With strange science, I have been spraying on a little WD40 every day for the last few days, but I can't move any of them at all.

Is there any magic rust remover spay that actually works?

I don't have a big vice or anything, so does anyone local have the ability to tackle stuck levelers with some big tools?

Cheers everyone

WD40 isnt a penetrating oil its a moisture repelant.

Some sort of penetrating oil or release agent is best

Something from Comma or Forte should do the job, loads on ebay etc

Saying that wd40 will probably work on lightly jammed stuff as will tomato sauce

A wooden side door to the garage works as a make shift vice if you are in a bind....

I had some and they were so rusted in thought it impossible to get out. The legs were over 40 years old.

A guy who was doing some painting went and got some sort of heat gun and they came out like butter - was amazed:eek:

Agree with others. Buy yourself a cheap blowtorch. Works a treat

haha blowtorch on the legs I have been soaking in WD40 ;)

I might get a can of that ACF50 that Calamori recommends it will probably come in handy to have some proper penetration spray

Acf50 is £14 a tin but keeps corrosion at bay on new motorbikes im hoping.
Wd40 will soon burn off with a blow torch. You still need a vice to hold the bugger unless your mrs has vice like grip

I certainly would be interested in a Prodigy pinball machine but not sure there would be the mass American market that Stern are looking for.

Top early tune that, I forget about how good Experience was as an album, it was a lot more chilled out than later stuff.

Probably my favourite album tbh with Jilted Generation a close second :)

Hmmm I liked prodigy back in the day, but it sounds dated now, don't think the pin would have any long term appeal to me lol

Picked mine up today (Euro Car Parts is a damn busy place by the way)

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!

I thought I would never get the levellers out of Strange Science, worst case of rusting in I had seen for a long time. And the threads were undamaged afterwards, so I didn't even need to re-cut them, new levellers went in smooth

Thanks very much @elrikos
