Hi guys does anyone know of a Uk supplier of this?

Or maybe someone has some spare in the bottom of a spares box they can sell me?

Looking to get a sheet that I can cut down to size.

Marco have it but I’d rather see if o can source some locally first.

Forgive me, but whenever this stuff gets mentioned I have to say the following :

I had a length of this stuff a few years ago and decided to roll it up and secure it with a cable tie.
When I came to use it later on, I cut the cable tie and the whole roll uncoiled and shot up in the air about 6 inches in front of my face.
Don't do that.

i guess shipping from the netherlands is cheaper than from usa, but as i said, probably cheapest to source it at another shop locally as blue spring steel

Here….

https://www.boneham.co.uk/standard-shim-packs/blue-tempered-spring-steel-shim/

Click on select variants and 0.006” is listed and available.

Out of interest, how do you plan to cut it? I wanted to laser cut some, but shim and spring steels just don’t cut well on lasers. Snip cutting and the parts are just going to look ugly.

Chris.

Seriously though I was going to use Tin snips and then was think of using a bench grinder I have at work to smooth off the rough edges… Not sure if it would work but fingers crossed and all that.

I’d found that link but it only comes in a 50” roll which is £37… anyone want to go halfs? Quarters? 8ths [emoji16]

Could possibly mount the spring steel onto a sacrificial steel backing and try laser cutting it for you.

I can give it a go next time I’m in the workshop, don’t have spring steel but do have shim stock, it wouldn’t be much different to cut.

May take a week or two, but watch this space.

Chris.
