Hi

Been offered a good deal on a machine which says it has had a new playfield overlay.

Is this a bad thing or not, not really read much about this technique.

Thanks

Chris

That means its probably hiding some nasty wear underneath it. Overlays sit on top of the original artwork and can interfere with ball speed and flow. They also look terrible close up and imo a 5 year old with a packet of crayolas could make it look nicer...

Buuuut. If its a real good price and the overlay has been fitted well and is nice and flat you may just get away with a decent playing machine. I stay away from 'em personally.

Thanks mate, the deal never happened in the end but sounds like it was just as well!

I dunno.

Think it was Mr Squires who did an 8 ball overlay(or maybe telboy).

And that played and looked ok

Dave and Sal did the 8 ball overlay. Stripped to bear wood so nice and smooth then transfer applied. Check out his FB page for photos. Was a beauty
