Predator by Pinball Brothers …Get to the chopper !

I’ve never seen the film so it was likely never a buy for me. First impressions though, surprisingly positive, better than I expected though I’d need to see more gameplay.

I’m a bit confused about the assets. PB said no Arnie close ups but the Nitro video seemed to have what I’d call close ups, with synced audio from the film too. Either that isn’t approved and won’t be final, which seems a bad idea to have that video floating around as it would be misleading or they need to clear up what they mean.

Theme is king for me, can't believe you haven't seen one of the most iconic 80's action films.

First thing I did when I got Atmos Ceiling speakers installed was to go to the Ol' Painless (mini gun) scene where they mow down the forest trying to hit the predator. Hearing the bullets and explosions wizz over your head is surreal.

I’ve never seen the film
And with that devastating comment I realise I am now ancient 😭

How is that even possible? It like never seeing Home Alone or Gremlins. (Admittedly I’ve never seen any of The Harry Potter stuff and only one Starwars film)

Alien - actually agree, it sucks

Skill issue, shoot the lock better

Skill issue, pull triggers better

Skill issue, nudge harder

Skill issue, plunge better

Skill issue, Red and Ted are comedy geniuses ahead of their time

Skill issue, alien pregnancy is a perfectly valid and sane theme

Skill issue, tap

Well done

Skill issue, what’s wrong with tigers? More flippers to hit shots with = great and you can’t even get scissored

Love,
Your wide-bodied friend

We need the widebody talk in a different thread. I miss this kind of (pointless) debate on the forum 🤣
I have many things to say

Unfortunately only a DTS 5.1 HD MA on the 4k, no atmos. I wasn't blown away by it at all. If you want REAL atmos get A Quiet Place, The Matrix, Blade Runner 2049, Top Gun Maverick, Mad Max Fury Road, Cliffhanger (The U.S disc), Dune, John Wick parts 2 to 4. Just a few examples from my collection which have awesome atmos sound, with a decent sub they will rock the place !!!

Don’t often get excited about new releases.
But like many this was my number one theme to be built and I honestly like the look of it on initial impressions and there’s loads of room for tweaks by the many talented mod makers.
The score and sound clips are perfect for a moody pinball (Billy’s laugh is perfect for a 3rd ball drain at later stages)
However, £10k!…. This needed to be closer to 8 for me I’m afraid but still looking for to playing it at pinfest.

Ranking every wide body game that I have played.

Alien - Amazing theme, floaty with awful flippers and boring unsatisfying shots.
Score 4 out of 10

TZ - Amazing theme, lock rejects and annoying SDTM drains.
Score 3 out of 10

Demolition Man - Great theme, pointless triggers, too many multiballs, boring.
Score 5 out of 10

Judge Dredd - Good theme, game doesn't frickin move
Score 6 out of 10

Evil Dead - Amazing theme, pointless third flipper, crappy skill shot, pointless mini playfield and you can get 0 bonus
Score 3 out of 10

Road Show - Turd theme, Red and Ted are p#@cks, boring as hell
Score 2 out of 10

Embryon - Irrelevant theme, too wide and I hate it
Score 3 out of 10

Future Spa - Irrelevant theme, most frustrating wide body pile of s&#t
Score 1 out of 10

Paragon - I actually quite like this on second thought.
Score 8 out of 10.

The worst wide body game therefore that I have played is......

Big Game - Turd theme, immovable 4 flipper pile of tiger s&@t
Score 0 out of 10.

Peace out !!!
Does somebody need a hug ? 🤗

Yeah agree it's only 5.1 but it's just setup so that the rear channels to throw through the ceiling speakers.

Still results in an immersive experience.

So the topper is going to feature a top torso (shoulders and arms) with actuated head and shoulders canon which follows your shots.

It needs 2ft of clearance behind the backbox to allow for the shoulder to retract and come up.

Price projection is a meaty 2.5k. Am I going to buy it. Of course I am.

Excuse my ignorance but if you put an order in for one of these when can you expect it to arrive?
Production starts in August.
Early adopters are placed onto a VIP list I believe.

I believe David is pushing to get the show room machine in time for Pinfest.

With all that said I'd imagine within the end of the year?

Predator is an ELITE theme but that footage looked ****. Shame Stern didn't get the licence. Also, 10k? Behave ffs

I don't get it, isn't Kong an unlicensed theme and the premium is listed at 11.5k?

I'm not saying it's cheap but comparatively it's cheaper than a Stern.

This would be 15k as an LE with Stern?

True but there'd be a Pro option and for me, having Elwin or Gomez behind it counts

Designers count, but a cut down game just isn't for me. Credit to JJP for not cutting down the arcade version imo

Indeed, but that Arcade version is a far bigger theme, looks to be more loaded, from a more established company.... And is the same price as this...
