Practice doesn’t make perfect

Who are you Effkay? :) clearly you can play!

You are very welcome on the weekend to join in with either of the tournaments if free.
Hi Jackpot! My name’s Fran. I tend to play on the weekend when it’s quiet, but i have met a few folk at the club.

I’m going to head over for pingolf on Saturday and bring my daughter. We’re already quite excited for the competition!

Vee - thanks for the invite to meet up, im SE London so definitely possible.

Roadshow - that BM66 score is insane. 😳

Den - we met a couple of weeks ago! I don’t think I would ever sell BM66 but I could be interested in a temporary swap in the future..

Really enjoying reading the comments around this subject and it got me wondering, is there actually a training resource area in the forum? If not, perhaps we could create a list of good resources for different skills?

I will try and remember!
@StandUpAndFight - just a quick note - I did quite a bit more research and on the back of this, now have a Quest 3, and as you described, it's really good.

So you don't need to remember to bring yours on Saturday, unless we both bring them and have a game in any downtime, and maybe let others who are interested have a go? Just a thought!

Thanks for the heads up on this! 👍

Hi Fran, also SE London (Greenwich), so feel free to PM me if you fancy meeting up once I’ve got more use of my broken shoulder! :)

I class myself as an average player, by the fact that my good to bad games ratio is 50/50. I can always play reasonably well at home, or when visiting one of the public places to play. But my achilles heel is tournaments, as soon as I have to play competitively, I just can’t play, I feel myself tense up, my skills disappear, and my aiming is totally off, it’s so frustrating and drives me mad.

Here are some top tips for playing in competitions.

For example former world champ Cayle George says:

“There is no way to get over the adrenaline, heart pounding, shaking hands and loss of critical thinking from the competitive environment other than doing it again and again. It does get better, you will get over it, but it will take experience like everything else.”

You’re welcome!

Glad that you like it! I will chuck it in my bag ( carefully!) and bring it along.
