I'm sure there used to be a thread for dogs but damned if I can find it! Here's our Dexter at 12 weeks old. What we didn't realise when arranging to buy him was that @Jagspete was the breeder. My wife had phoned up about it and it was only when she relayed the directions that I realised!

This thread is killing me. I’d love to have a dog but Anna is dead set against it. Doesn’t help that we are based in an inner city location and I really want an Old English Sheep dog (which would weigh almost as much as her) . Even offered to give up one of my pin rooms in exchange.
In my heart I know it’s unfair on the dog as the house is empty during the day but.....

Oh well. One day I’ll quit my job and get one.

Didn’t even realise that you could cross OES and St Bernard until recently. Now they are absolutely gorgeous

Yeah I was in the same situation for the last 10yrs. Circumstances change though. Working from home is becoming the new normal :)

Grew up in a 3 bed terraced with Mum & Dad, 2 brothers and a Newfoundland, Rottweiler, Rottweiler cross boxer, Lab cross red setter and my Golden Retriever. Step daughter pushed hard for a dog, wife took sides so eventually I gave in. Said Lab or Golden retriever ONLY as that's what I knew best.

Said I would have nothing to do with it, it's not going on the sofa / bed. I'm not feeding it, walking it or cleaning up after it.

This is what they got. ! The most vicious Staffie cross in the world ........ NOT

Now eating my words - she's the best dog I've ever had - My heart melted the first day we ever met in Picture 1 - yes the step daughter wanted a Paris Hilton Dog so now Belle's mine and the better halves - result
