Wonder if anyone can help identify which posts I need, fitting some plastic protectors from colywobbles and I need the two posts changed to longer threads either side of the plastic shown in the image.

Cheers

Wouldn't the protector go between the plastic post and the nut of the metal post. I.e. take the metal posts off and reassemble with cols protector underneath before tightening up. Then you Wouldn't need new metal posts.

The plastic is in the right place as shown it needs to sit on top of a double bumper post either side (02-4423 I think) the metal plate has to go on top but it barely tightens up as is on the image no way with the plate. I am going to purchase the "missing" plastic to go on top instead of the metal plate

Page 2-36 of the manual shows that you have 02-4424-01 and the ones you need are probably 02-4425-01 but you will also need to change the locknuts to 8-32.

The plastic is defiantly on a 02-4423 or 02-4423-1 the orange sleeve post you can see it blind on top the plastic is on a post behind it.

Probably switch to this and use a 6-32 bolt from top instead of locknut. But it depends on how it is fitted through playfield. It needs to be same as existing.

That's an idea the rubber ring would still go around this ok didn't think of using a screw down post instead, I wonder if there is a screw down post with the correct shape for rubber bumper rings, you have made me look around at other posts and I have found this 02-4493 I think its long enough thread on top.

There are loads of different posts but what you need to make sure is hole through playfield is same diameter.

Some of my spares...

It should be #8 so look for post with an 8-32 thread underside of playfield. Plus a solid post better if you are using a full length rubber post sleeve.

Thanks @Asiapinball I am thinking the exact post does not exist a 02-4493 would be perfect if the bottom 8-32 thread was longer. Here is a better picture showing the metal plate on a 02-4423. The post sleeve post is not part of the issue.

Here is a Getaway with the protector fitted, threads a lot longer.

...... because the 02-4493 is designed for use with a t nut. Whereas the 4423 is for a locknut under the playfield. Possibly convert if there is enough space for tnut under playfield but that will need drilling to enlarge hole in playfield and locknut version is stronger because locknut version post is really snug in playfield hole.

Yep I see where your going with this, if its a nut I can put a t nut in and use 02-4493 👍

Yes and drill from underside of playfield just to the half way through to the depth required by the extra girth of the tnut.

The pic above and this one here is my HS2 that now resides with a neighbour.
I managed to get an original plastic which were quite unobtainable at the time and fitted my flo protector along with a full set I made for HS2.
I can’t remember changing the post but I did have to on TZ for similar reasons.

It is possible my post is current the wrong one, I have ordered the true scene plastic from PinballHaus.

Weirdly I have for a few target protectors and no one else seems to have had a problem so maybe the wrong one.
I’ll go look at my spares see what I have kicking about.

Nothing here unfortunately, I did think these might work but the realised it holds the supercharger so it needs something substantial

Thanks for looking Col, I have ordered some 02-4493, 02-4423 and some T Nuts along with the plastic so I should be able to sort it out. It is odd as on the image of your old machine you can see the treads clearly come up through a few mm after everything fitted.

Here is a link to the missing plastic.

So I got some posts but the one with the longer base screw has the same thread on top as what I have on the table so not long enough for protector and plastic (or the plate) The other is just long enough but I will have to drill a T-Nut on the underside of the playfield though there seems lack of space to fit a T-Nut (too close to the edge of a hole)
I still have to fit the supercharger support also.

The zoomed in image of another Getaway shows a longer post thread or is that just a reflection on the pop bumper cap, real head scratcher this is 🤔

So I am going to raise the post by 3mm with washers, drill the protector so it sits over the post instead of on top of it, there is no danger of the protector sinking lower because of the flat top rubber bumper post.

I’m not quite sure how the protector will cope if it’s not fastened tight.
Yes you will have the edge pop that looks really nice but I think that’s a high traffic area so be interesting how it holds out.
I can always send another FOC just cover postage.
My old HS2 is still holding up no problems at least 4yrs on with the very same protector.

Thanks @Colywobbles for the offer you don`t need to do that, your plastics are great, really appreciate your help, I have done it, raising the post did the trick its not going anywhere :D the plastic fits over the post snug no movement the other post is left alone. In all my messing I did break my plastic so I went back to the metal plate may have a look again at that another day. I have the mountain mod so I am now looking at this but with that you remove most of the plastic anyway.

I have now found the issue the post needed is 2-4423-1 which is unobtainable, mine had the shorter 2-4423 fitted. The image is the 2-4423-1.
