Hello

I wonder if anyone can help / give advice?
There was a Playmatic Fandango pinball machine at an auction here in Edinburgh a few years ago that no-one bid on. It seemed that it was going to be scrapped so I spent £120 buying and transporting it.
The machine powers up but then makes a repeated clicking noise.
I contacted Eddie at Paisley Pinball who put me onto Andy Netherwood. Neither feel that they can work on this machine.
It was manufactured in Spain and is probably quite uncommon in the UK.
Does anyone have any ideas to share?

it’s an EM. electro mechanical. there are people who specialise. not sure who is near you. @DAD is in west yorks. there maybe someone closer.
 
The clicking is probably the score motor turning, does it do it as soon as you power the game on or after you press the start button? Some pics of it's guts would be helpful, both inside the bottom of the cabinet and the head :thumbs: A lot of Spanish manufacturers copied their mechs off one of the big 3 (Gottlieb, Bally or Williams) and based on the one pic on IPDB the chime unit looks like Williams but the score motor looks a bit unusual so could be there own.

Best way to get any unknown condition EM working is to go through it methodically following Clay's guides (cleaning all switches etc) rather than trying to chase down specific issues.

Apologies for the thread hi-jack, but I have a similar problem with my Nautilus, except my score motor only turns continuously when I press the credit button - what (& where) are thes Clay's guides of which you speak?

Hi Douglas

I'm in Dundee but just cutting my teeth on repairing a Gottlieb King of Diamonds, my first EM.

Clay's guides are good, I have also found The Goat Shed a useful resource for EMs


If you can get a hold of the schematics then that will help.
