I need to replace my wooden side rails ony Bally Corvette. i have removed them and they seem to measure just over 1/2" x 1". I'd have thought originally. They would have been 1/2" ×1" be maybe have swelled over time? Does anyone have the exact size of wood they should be on williams/bally machines?

Also, I see they are made from pine by the looks of it, would oak be better as a replacement?

Luckily for me, the corvette side rails are just plain straight with no cut outs or notches so I just want to buy a length of wood in the correct size and cut it to length myself.

Any help with sizes welcome!

Oh and also will my playfield bow without these fitted? The playfield is flat on the floor with weight on the top to keep it level
