Playfield cleaning, specks of dirt that don't budge?

There's quite a few white specks (maybe old wax?) on my RS playfield.

I've got all the Novus's and a few cloths, (only really used Novus 1 and 2 on plastics).
I can't seem to remove these white specks, any ideas?

While on the subject, how do people keep their playfields clean? I give it a run over with a cloth and think it looks OK, then as soon as I put the glass back I notice more dirt!
Drives me insaaaaane!

See the pics for the kind of dirt I'm talking about. A lot in the pictures is loose dirt or dust but there's often a few that just don't move and have been there months!

Have you tried isopropyl wipes?

I tend to strip my games down and give them a deep clean before playing too much, that way I know there’s no old ****e in the troughs or under stuff, as that often gets spread about as soon as you’ve done a wipe down. Didn’t get around to that on this one though 😉

No, are they good for this? I have only tried novus but will get some wipes if they might get the dirt out!

I have a small vacuum that I use for white rubber like that. I understand your frustration though as I have a white cat. Every time I remove the glass and then re-install it there is always a white cat hair on a dark part of the playfield, usually on black playfield paint so it just shouts "LOOK AT ME!"

I use NOVUS 2 for cleaning, but because it doesn't dry clear or evaporate I use it sparingly. I clean with lighter fluid or isopropyl and then give everything a good wax.

Isn't it time to replace the playfield rubber if it's depositing that many bits...? :hmm:
The rubbers were replaced by me when I got it. They're silicone ones so shouldnt deposit much?

Most of those specks were there already I just ignored them for a while 😁

its a while since I owned a RS but from memory doesn’t it have a few subways? Anyhow no matter how much you dust and wipe your PF down if wont stop the subways spreadng this muck around the place and lots of the time its the hidden areas that distribute the crap around the table. The same can be said for the hard to reach areas like ball Trails beneath ramps and orbits around the back.
unless all these places are addressed once in a while you Will always be fighting a losing battle.

The loops behind Red and Ted drive me mad. They're obscured by ramps on both sides, i have no idea how to clean behind there without removing ramps and as you know some ramps require multiple other parts removed 🤦🏻‍♂️

There's not any major subways, just a vuk? That locks and ejects the balls and one small subway of probably 5inches linking start city and the blast/skillshot hole.

I Chuck a cut up cotton T shirt around orbits tied to a single core out of a piece of 1.0 T&E cable.
It not only has protective insulation on it but also bends nicely to shape for any ramp or Orbit
