I’ve had my taxi about 13 years and I’ve never seen the meter bonus advance because I’ve got pinned displays and it doesn’t show that feature! I’ve always been tempted to go back to OG displays just to see it

What Mr Taxi has no meter running😮😂

If you can you should mate, it’s a good feature. Kerching🤑

Meter porn for you😝

With the 16-digit displays, new for Williams with Taxi, straight away Williams decided to use it in 'extended' mode, driving an additional display. To do this, the circuit board was fitted out differently, using the alpha-numeric 'starburst' segments of the lower display for the additional display (or displays, Riverboat Gambler has two) instead. Doesn't the replacement offer this, even when ordering it?

If you're looking for an original main display circuit board, I think the version with 1 extra display was designated '-2' at the end of the part number; ordinary was -1, and two additional displays was -3.

Yes the pinled came with the display but it’s unable to display the rolling meter bonus. So it just displays the jackpot value all the time. There is a fix for it which involves either installing or removing a diode somewhere on the board. Or something like that.

I see, it drives the extra display, but not the animation while the meter advances. That would niggle me more than a little.

Yeah, I’ve never owned a taxi with original displays so I’ve never seen it advance. It would bug me more if I’d seen it otherwise
