My son nailed it with this pick—he knows me far too well! Pinball is such a crazy, ridiculously addictive hobby. Hard to believe that just two years ago I’d barely played—just a few casual games, and the only thing I really remembered was a TAF down at the local. Fast forward to now… and it’s safe to say I’m completely hooked!

100%. I was into arcade machines and was like why the hell would anyone spend money on a pinball machine?

It started in December 2023 for me when I started to seek out pinball and going to my local barcade... I bought my first at the end of 2024 thinking I was really happy to own a single one and that'd be it for a while, 2 months later another, 2 months later another, etc etc. In less than 12 months I've done an extension on my house to make a pinball room, and I've got 3 priced modern stern games with another heading out soon.

I'm completely suckered in, I hardly stop thinking about pinball, about playing it, about what game I might switch out next and for what, trying to convince friends and family to dive in to the hobby like I have.

It's a sickness. I'm so happy to be a part of it.

I was exactly the same, the cost and the maintenance put me off for years.

I’m still not ready to sell the candy cabs, but it’s so tempting as it would make space for 3 more pinball machines 😆
A single OG Vewlix F hangs on for me which is my multicade, my candies and original hardware have all gone otherwise. I do still have a couple Pachislo machines but they don't take up much space at all.

We're totally not considering converting the garage in our house to fit more.... nope...
I'm justifying it by telling the Mrs spiders cant get in so easily, if the garage door is bricked up!

Same, about a year in, and hooked!

I got my first pin (The Shadow) in 2019, I’m now waiting for delivery of my 40th pin! (From selling and buying - I don’t own 40 at once!)
Great hobby, love trying new games but have slowly grown a collection that I would now struggle to part with.

Nice one Tim @strobey i hadn’t heard that one before! Andy @Andydn im currently after my 87th (since 2010) so you’re on roughly the same dangerous trajectory as me!

In the old days when I had way too many, I always told the missus they mostly were loaners belonging to pinhead mates (who did the same). I’ve never smashed any walls down yet!

I used to jump over the garden wall to go meet Martin Deliveryman down by the garage without her finding out. I used to run them in there (and a neighbours garage) with a generator.
