Which LED's are the best to buy, looking to buy a load for my machines, mainly for inserts. Any advice most welcome

Depends on a whole heap of things, what machines? Different LED's look good in different games depending on the era. There are sooooo many different types of LED's which are available it is very difficult to recommend specific LED's. It depends what you like, do you like dimmer ones, regular ones or the super bright jobbies that you need sunglasses on when playing .

Personally I've never gone wrong with the premium kits from http://www.pinball-led.co.uk/ which look great on the under playfield lighting (far as I know David only offers kits for this) as the GI is so customizable you are best going round a game, making a note of what lamps are where and then ordering what you want or think would look good.

There are a number of places to get LED's, another place I hear recommended a lot is Cointaker http://shop.cointaker.com/ where there is a major selection but bear in mind you will have to ship it from the US.

Best people to ask are probably going to be the ones selling them, but in my opinion there is no "best" LED, just what you think looks the best in your games. I love the super bright ones so that is what I put in my machines, but they cost a bit more.

A mix of both incandescent and leds is usually the best way. There is nothing worse than an over led'ed machine.

Go premium / superbright. Can't stand the cheap leds that are dimmer than incandescents.

Find that colour matching the inserts works very well.

If buying frosted GI, the cool white option seems to be the brightest but blue, green and red look good too. Be warned yellow and orange frosted LEDs are rubbish not sure why, but look very inferior to incandescents from the side.

I was dubious about LEDs at first but now love them.
