I have a Party Zone and feel that the GI is a bit dim. In GI test, for each individual GI string, the bulb brightness increases gradually from levels 1 to 5, but levels 6 to 8 do not increase in brightness. Could anyone who has a Party Zone do a GI string test and see if their machine GI brightness increases in steps 6 to 8 please?

I don't have a spare WPC89 Power Board to swap in, but have checked the voltages from the transformer, through all the connectors to the triacs and get approx 7volts(fine). I have other voltage readings but don't want to get too deep until I know what actually should be happening ;-)

Many thanks
Ian

Thanks for the reply. I have incandescent bulbs fitted so that is why I wanted someone to try a GI test from the Tests menu.

Your idea could be an easy fix. Maybe I should fit High Brightness LEDs and turn off dimming. This sounds a lot easier than diagnosing the zero cross circuits or the MPU board for a fault!

If you turn off dimming in the menu with the old fashioned lamps are they still dim?
I have not heard of this issue before.

Try J115 - pin one - the ground connection on that has to be A1.....
Also check the caps. Just change all the small electrolytic caps. I have had a couple of weird issues that have been sorted out changing those.
I tend to do it on all power driver boards now. There is only a few (not the big ones!!)
