here:

presumably they're still asleep now, but in about 6-8 hours the finals will be on, and i will be watching.

the top 24 from qualifying will be playing - currently these guys, and i think this is now closed?

so all the regular names are there to be cheered on. it looks like the top 24 will go through to the finals, and will play in groups of 4 players in multiplayer games - scoring 4, 2, 1 and 0.

on the website it says that the group that contains the highest-seeded player gets first choice of machine and order of play. The highest-seeded player within each group may choose either the machine to be played, or the order of play.

so presumably .... these 24 will go into six groups of 4, and play on ...... what, 3 machines? ...... then after each round, they thin down the numbers and cull the bottom placed guys.

so my guess is 24 becomes 18 after the six group losers go out in round 1, then 18 becomes 12 after six groups of 3 ....... does anyone know for sure? .... how many games in each round, and how many rounds? i looked in the rules, but those only talk about plans for a 12- or 16-player finals, not 24.

I'll be watching. Interestingly, it says on the Papa site that you cannot buy your way into the finals - what a load of cobblers! One guy had 15 attempts at $100 per entry. I don't like this qualifying format at all!!

still even more reason to pick your Division . personally I would start at 'B'. I don't like the way you can be in the Qualifying positions then you get moved down by tactical submissions of scores.

Classics I was won by Bowen Kerins, 2nd was Keith Elwin, 3rd Frank Romero, 4th Colin McAlpine
Classics II was won by Cayle George, 2nd was Joe Said, 3rd Jerry Bernard, 4th Bowen Kerins
Classics III was won by Keith Elwin, 2nd was Jim Belsito, 3rd Bowen Kerins, 4th Eric Fisher

what's this I, II and III all about then?

and where the **** is Keith Elwin?

jesus, they don't hang around, i was expecting a whole evening of this, but already i see there's a 3>2 match on Mustang in progress to determine the 2 joining 6 more in the last 8

Great stuff, watched every minute. Especially loved seeing Cayle and Zach progress, knocking Elwin and Bowen out. Also seeing Elwin tilt all 3 balls on Jonny, the pressure can even get to a 5 time world champion! Really pleased Cayle won, he played brilliantly. I do bloody love PAPAtv
