Hi all,

I’m excitedly waiting for my first pin to arrive. Long time player, first time owner.

Labyrinth tipped me over the edge. I was originally looking for Medieval Madness, but when Labyrinth came out I couldn’t resist.

So hopefully in June I’ll get my hands on it. Anyway I was wondering if there are any kind of owner clubs set up in and around my area? Where you go around each others houses and play for a bit.

Or is that not the done thing in pinball world?

Cheers,

Boonitch

Your nearest club is Special When Lit in Salisbury mate.

I'm in Sandhurst and you're welcome to pop over and have a game at some point. I have no pins set-up at the moment for a multitude of reasons but should be sorted before too long.

I'd be keen to see your Labyrinth when it arrives - I loved playing it at EAG in January.
I would invite you round but all my games are elsewhere at the moment (details in sig. below)
cheers,
mike.

I have a few games on location in Reading. Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers infinity quest at Brewdog, Rush at the Purple Turtle.

I think I might be too lazy for a four hour round trip to Salisbury on a regular basis. Definitely fun to do once and a while so thanks for the heads up and the invite!

I took the trip to Great Yarmouth to meet with David from Retro Arcade Specialists and he put it out for me in his dads aracade and set it to free play.

A good three hours later you have a great feel for the machine. And he had a few other games there as well. So playing those afterwards really cemented my choice.
Join your local pinball league, you'll get to meet and attend some lovely events at generous folk's homes..!

Yes, I’ve looked at that. Lot of traveling again (I think I live in pinball Death Valley) but very tempting 🤩

Hi Matt, then it’s your games I’m playing all the time! 😃 Thanks for setting those up. 🙏🏻 Was always wondering if there were others who played regularly there. Love that payment system by the way! When previously there were machines there that only took coins I would save them up and come in loaded with like £30 coins in my pockets 😂
You’re welcome to come round to my place near Wycombe/Henley/Marlow any time. There’s about 20 machines here. Pm me if you want to visit!
Amazing Mfresh, I live I Henley myself so must be just around the corner! Count me in 🤩 PM is on it’s way.

I live in Woodley but not really got much of a collection at present recently downsized so can only fit 2 in at present got scooby here on loan, and currently deciding what to buy next month for spot 2, welcome over when i get setup again 😂

Well, I’ll only have the one pinball I’m afraid. So two would be one more than I have. Simply won’t fit in my house 😊 So looking forward to playing some pinball at yours whenever you’re ready. Mine won’t arrive till June so counting the days. Hopefully no delays. Haven’t heard anything about delays at barrel of laughs so we should be good

I'm in Reading, get down to Brew Dog to play the two there reasonably often, played Rush in Purple Turtle but didn't really click with it. There's a Game of Thrones set on free play in the Penta Hotel downstairs and two new pins in the Oakford Social Club but both set on silent so I don't bother with those.

I have a Deadpool Pro with a load of mods and a Getaway at home.

Sounds good, let’s catch up in the Brewdog soon then 👍🏻

I’m usually pretty flexible so feel free to suggest a day.

I tried the Rush machine at the Purple Turtle as well and same thing for me. Didn’t do much for me. But then the theme is also not really exciting for me. I think the first time I became conscious of Rush was while watching ‘I love you man’. Such a great movie 🍿’Slappa da base-ahhh!’

I heard about the ones in the Oakford social club but haven’t gone to check them out. Any ideas what the machines are?

Cool, will do, away until after Easter but can sort out a day to meet up... I was in there at the end of the night on Saturday and was pleased to see both machines up and running as the GotG had been down for a bit.

One question, If I buy an older machine, is there anyone local to me that can be recommended to service / repair when things go wrong?

Hi mate, I'm in Sandhurst which isn't a million miles away. I use Martin @gopinball who is a great guy and an excellent technician. Then there is Keith @new forest pinball but not sure he'd travel that far but worth asking. There one other Bristol based option I can think of but he's not on the forum.

I haven't had a machine here for a few years but this beast has returned home from Medway for some fettling...
The one thing I can't fix is the code unfortunately 😠

Hi Boonitch,
I am over from NZ for 6 months and already having withdrawl symptoms! Going to be doing some travelling, but am based in Henley (my sister lives here). I have already reached out to Mfresh who has kindly invited me round.

I would love to get a chance to play your Labrynth when it arrives, if that would be possible? We won’t be seeing that game in NZ as there is no distributor set up and getting new games via Australia is pretty expensive.

I am fortunate to know RotorDave and got a chance to see 3 of his home brew Motörhead games back in January.

Cheers

Hey Skippy,

Yes, absolutely. However, delivery won’t be until June (if the schedule hasn’t changed).

Meanwhile happy to go for a pint whenever you fancy and play some pool/darts etc. Or pop over to Reading for a game or two.

Feel free to reach out bud!

I would like to be able to say how nice it is to have more machines available to play in Reading... Sadly, these are in such a bad state that I won't be going back to Urban 'Fun' in a hurry 😠

The issues: Sloppy flippers on two or three of them, obviously long overdue for rebuilds. Back legs all flat, same as front, and not levelled of course. Ear-splitting, distorted sound from three of them. All dirty to varying degrees, AIQ particulary so. Some may disagree but I also hate it when games are jammed together, though it didn't matter today since I was on my own... Yes, I reported the issues but not expecting them to care based on the comments on pinballmap.

Is there anywhere with decent machines within the area?

The Brewdog is not to my liking (as an old git) but does have Stern JP and ST, expertly maintained by MV ;)
And a GB in the PT (Purple Turtle, even less likely to see me in there!)
