No sound on MB

Hi guys

just flipped on MB for the first time in months ready for this weekend.

it all lights up and plays but no sound at all. Not even the initial bong noise

before I pull things apart are there obvious things to check?

What is the red led on the av board doing? Check at boot if it's a certain number of flashes (the same each time, or random /non sensical) or if the led is flashing coontinuiosly at a nice steady rhythm. If it flashes a certain number of times then stops, the processor has crashed and there's a fault somewhere.

Ok. Twat of the year award goes to me.

After spending ages pulling cables and swearing at the game I remembered that the previous owner had installed a headphone jack. I’ve never seen the point in them but checked it and there’s an on/off switch on it that somehow had been switched to on.

I’m blaming a small child.
