Just noticed my status underneath my alias has changed to registered. What does that mean? Why changing?

Ahha!! Wondered who would be the first to notice!! You win a prize!!! (sorry - not really, but well done on noticing!)

Nothing to worry about!!

When a user is approved, they are automatically moved into the "Registered" group. I am currently trying to move all those with more than 15 posts via a rule into a new group called "Members", meaning i can restrict the access of some users to - say for example - the for sale forum to those that have posted 15 times or more.

As part of this, I decided to tidy some user stuff up, and one thing i noticed was that the status were set incorrectly - so have corrected that - hence why it now says "registered" :) You for example @domlouis will be moving into the "members" group soon having posted considerably more than 15 times!

Cheers
Paul

I take it this is not phpBB? I don't seem to have anywhere near this level on sophistication on my forum and have a constant battle with spam.

Oh no - Not Phpbb - This is Xenforo. And we have no real issues with spam at all due to some new fancy anti-spam software :)

The only two best ones out there now are Xenforo and Invision (which is very good but 3x the price!). Burning board would be better - if it wasn't for the fact that most of the support is in German - I never did German in school and Google translate i can only come with for small periods of time!

Thanks Paul, I'm going to look into how easy it is to transfer the database. 👍

There is a path....
import to Xenforo 1.5 -> Upgrade Xenforo 1.5 to Xenforo 2.1

Xf 2.1 and Xf 1.5 are the same cost - you only pay once and get access to both... unlike some marketing models :)

Thanks Paul.

Aside from the pinball stuff I have been very impressed with the layout and functionality of the forum.
