I have recently introduced a new line of RUBBER backed glass covers for your pinball machines. I currently have designs available for Pulp Fiction and Jaws (XMEN, Avatar, John Wick and Godzilla coming soon). These ship from the USA so shipping cost is 12 £ ($15US) as they each weigh approximately 2 pounds each. The glass covers are great if you have pets or want a stationary surface that will not move and will cover the glass and playfield perfectly.

Great way to protect your investment and makes the game look even better when not in use. Other custom designs are being introduced soon.

Rubber backed ones are the only way to go in my opinion. Very pleased with my Pulp Fiction one.

For me it's not to keep the dust/sunlight off, it's just a handy place to rest things when you're working on another Pin, plus it looks really smart.

I bought the rubber-backed dust covers for Godzilla and Metallica Remastered and thought I'd share some photos.

Unknown to me when I ordered the covers, my distro also sent me what I assume is an official Stern Godzilla cover as well, so I can show a direct comparison of the two.

Rubber-backed cover is on the left, and the official Stern cover is on the right:



As well as the difference in graphics, the materials are very different. The rubber-backed covers are very similar to a premium mousemat, and very flexible and grippy on the rubber side. Easy to roll up, and unrolls without retaining the rolled-up shape. On the other hand, the Stern cover is a stiffer material, with the bottom like a thin foam/plastic. You typically lift the whole Stern cover at once. Although the Stern covers can also be rolled up (and came that way), they're stiffer and also remember the roll and won't lie as flat afterwards.

I'm not actually sure which material I prefer. They both have pros and cons. The rubber backed ones are nicer to touch and easier to store rolled up when playing the games. The Stern one is easier to take on and off and align on the glass, since it's stiff and not as grippy, allowing you to lift or move the whole thing from one end. The Stern one fits into the frame around the glass while the rubber backed one fits the same horizontally but is slightly longer vertically (doesn't cause any problems though, the fabric just sits slightly over the slot at the top that the glass slides into). I find the Stern cover easier to handle but the rubber-backed cover easier to store when playing. To be honest, I'd be happy with either type.



One of my cats loves to use his claws on a rubber-backed floor mat I have, so I was worried he might jump on the machines and start clawing the covers (and glass under them). I was keen to test different materials. But it turns out both are fine here. He will walk on both types of covers but has never clawed either. (Of course, your cat may vary!)



I'm very happy with the covers. My only minor complaint is that the graphics are slightly stretched horizontally (or squished vertically, depending on how you look at it), but since you typically view the top of a pinball machine from such extreme angles when walking by them (and the covers are off when playing), that doesn't really matter and sometimes actually makes it look better. The quality of the print itself is superb.
