Hello Marc,

Firstly hello and welcome to the forum. Also nice to get another Midlander on here. Where in the Midlands are you based now? Have you been to Tilt Birmingham?

Hi MarcC I have had the to make the same decision as I have just bought my first machine 2 weeks ago. I ended up buying Stern Spiderman.

From my limited playing exerience of games and peoples opinions some of the best starter pins around 3k are

Spider-man (Slightly over budget)
Demolition Man
Getaway High Speed 2
Batman Dark Knight
Judge Dredd

There the one's I have played and are around your budget, if you got any questions give me a message and good luck.

Hello! I’m in Northamptonshire. I’ve popped into Tilt once, but didn’t have much time to spare. Seemed like a great little place, and I’ll hopefully get back there soon!

Hi Marc,

I’m very new myself and have gone from digital pinball to having my first proper pin within a few weeks of joining the forum.

I’ve had great advice from members, spent considerably less than your budget and am now the proud owner of a lovely Stargate cabinet, which I’m now learning the hobby through as well as playing (a lot).

Good luck with finding your first!

Thanks man! I’m not seeing a huge amount of stuff I’m interested in at the right prices at the moment, so we’ll see how it goes!

Something like Spider-Man or Judge Dredd seems to be where it’s heading. I wish the Star Wars Stern was cheaper, but there’s clearly no change of it falling into my lap in my price range!

If it’s the theme you like, you should be able to get a Data East Star Wars for your money. They come up for sale every so often
 
Hello all , I recently moved to Oxfordshire thanks to Post Office publishing all my personal details online last year including where I lived, name etc.. as might of guess, I am one of 555 GLO in scandal.

I am now in process of rebuilding my life in part through settlement to get some joy back. As growing up I used to love playing on pinball like BTTF / Adams etc.. looking to get few now to enjoy life and give back. Ie long term thinking of getting unit where youth community can go and play . Ie I will show my age but remember when I was a kid growing up. There was like summer camps one can go. Make friends, play arcades, play football etc.. but it seem those places are mostly no more.
 
Hi everyone, I'm Michael from Fife. Got into pinball briefly in the early 90s and have rediscovered it over the last 5 or 6 years. Registered on here last summer but never got round to posting.
After years of pondering, I got my first pinball (Iron Maiden pro) in the middle of last year, really enjoying it. I've never been good at it but that doesn't spoil the fun.
Thought I'd only get one and that would be me, although everyone I came across told me that wouldn't be the case......they were right, there should be a Deadpool pro here soon!
I think 2 is my limit because of space, although I find myself walking about the house with a tape measure wondering where I could squeeze another in at some point and seeing what else I can sell to fund another. Think I'll need to sell/trade in future if I want another though.

Looking forward to getting to know folks and finding out what goes on in pinball locally and further afield.
I've read a lot of useful information from this site so thanks to everyone who contributes on here.
 
Hello everyone, I ve been playing pinball for 12 months at my local pinball bar retroids. Really enjoying the hobby. Looking to improve my games and PB skills. Favourite games so far are monsterbash, medieval madness, and jaws. Looking to rent a pinball for home in the future.

Welcome to the group. I do occasionally go to Retroids. It's a good place to go. You also have Tilt in Birmingham at your disposal. Both have pinball leagues. Tilt is a weekly league and Retroids is monthly. Be good to meet you and one of the leagues.

Welcome. There were a few machines for sale at Pinfest last year so you might get lucky and find something you like for sale this year. Alternatively post a wanted ad on here and let people know your budget and what games you’re after and you might get someone tempted to sell one.

Hello pinball buddies, I'm a bit addicted to this pinball and arcade thing, the bad thing is that I'm making my kids addicted too, I have a Street Fighter II and arcades, and I'm about to get another one, I'm glad to be here, and thanks in advance for everything.

Hi, welcome to the forum. Im in Oxfordshire too. Not many places round here to play pinball unless you can get down to Salisbury. I’m currently building a new home for my new pinball collection. You are welcome to come round and play a few games once I’m set up

Hello All,
A quick newb hello from Newcastle in the UK's north east.

I have a Williams Highways EM which might well be the start of a small collection. Highways has been in our care for 6 months now and we've racked up nearly 2000 plays on since then, and thinking about another EM or 2 at some point.
Getting to grips with nudging and other various gameplay fun, and will make it down to some public play establishments at some point
