After a lot of stop, start I am now making small inroads on my white water refurb (shop log to follow once I've made a bit more progress).

The base of the cabinet is completely knackered and the sides are seriously ropey so I'm having my mate who is a chippie replace the whole thing. He has said it would be easier to make the whole thing out of mdf rather than just the base. Would this be strong enough or do the sides have to be made from ply?

Cheers,
Jamie

That's what I said to him, there's a reason they're made like that.
As you say Rudi if I ever did come to sell it people would probably take one look and pass.

Use correct grade of ply, keep original. Mdf can be poor with screws as well. The cost of material here is small beer compared to the value of a shopped white water

How bad is it ?
My fish tales shop log s just starting ,my cab front was only fixed by screws and brackets now all
glued and clamped up !

Crap pictures but the whole bottom is falling out and has been screwed the length of the cab. I got my mate round to measure up for a new base only but he said it would be easier for him to do the whole cab by the time we've messed around.
What is the correct ply @DRD ?image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

how much is a manny unpainted full cabinet ? I've been trying to work his weird auctions out but have never came up with the answer?

He's a good mate so he's only charging me for the materials. He has all singing and dancing festool everything so said it wouldn't take him that long.

The main issue with getting a manny cab for me is shipping to Jersey although they do look the business.
