Well not new exactly but certainly new to me.

I've included a video as it's easier than uploading pictures for me and stops me writing an essay!!!! 😎

Out of interest how much would it cost to get it cleaned, working, LED's & generally pimped up?

It seems so mate.

The chap who I brought it from inherited it from the previous owner of the house as part of the games annex. It seems that it was purchased from new and delivered to the house. I seems to have had very little use but also not much love either.

Thanks mate, I had been nervous all day but as soon as I pulled into the street and saw how big all the houses were I knew I'd lucked in. A really nice guy and clearly very successful but the pinball was insignificant to him to be honest. . . . . will mean the world to me and my son though.

I'd had a look at the weekend on google street view as my other half is from down that way and she said that was a posh bit of croydon [emoji3]

I picked one of these up a few months ago and it was given a quick once-over on my behalf. For me, fitting full LEDs and a colour DMD were big upgrades to the overall game - i'd give both serious consideration.

I must admit that I have been looking at the various mods since I got back.

This one here looks the absolute nuts 👇 . . . . I'd love to get it approaching this level.

Colour DMD would be my first upgrade.. I personally like incandescents on this game. It has stunning light set pieces.. Working up the warp factor while going thru modes is adrenalin pumping. Playing a lot of this at the mo as my son loves it . Here’s mine next to my SS. LCD on SS and LED on STTNG..DA7653EC-494D-431F-BB67-065BDAA82797.jpeg

I love it Kenny, looks spectacular and makes me motivated. I hadn't even considered difference between LCD & LED, I know nothing about it at all. I do love the way the colour screen depicts the stars.

Have a look at this guy's machine. https://www.facebook.com/xingothx/I asked where he got the DMD cover (would love one for my STTNG) but he said a friend made it for him. If anyone knows someone that could make one for me I'd appreciate a heads up.

I would imagine that it's standard stuff for a metal work printer.

They'd probably work off an Adobe AI file or similar. If I had the precise measurements I could copy that into a workable technical drawing. I'll ask my mate Danny, he knows nothing about pinball but everything about bespoke metalwork.

Result same price that I payed for mine earlier this year, they wanted £3k☺
I have fitted LED’s with an Afterglow board (like led ocd) so the leds dim rather than strobe so looks original but more vivid.
Also fitted a lcd colour dmd and PinSound with speakers which takes it up a few more levels.
Looks in good nick too, you are going to really enjoy it.

Thanks mate, I'm going to take my time getting it together and up to scratch. I've waited 15 years for one of these so I'm going to get it up to spec before playing it.

My mate is popping up next week with his box of tricks and were going to strip it down and clean it all up. The colour screen is a must, I'm not familiar with pinsound but have heard it mentioned plenty of times. LEDS are a definite although I want to make sure that the Borh ship is glowing green and that sort of thing so I might not get the kit. Exciting times ahead . . . . this one is a keeper.

My STTNG is at Flip Out London if you want to take a look. Flip Out is in Waddon near Croydon, we have just under 60 machines in an industrial Unit. We're open most Saturday and Sunday afternoons with our club night on Thursdays. My STTNG has an LCD Colour DMD and a just fitted Pinsound board with a headphone station. I've also added a number of Mods which you might like, playfield decals and alternate toys etc. I'm hosting on Sunday 3rd November from 1.00 till 5.30 so call by then if you get the time. http://flipoutlondon.com/

If your mate can replicate the DMD cover I'd be very interested in seeing how much he would want for the job. Do let me know.

I'll certainly ask him, even if he can't he'll know how to do it.

I'll keep you posted.

I know the area, I used to live in Sutton and volunteer at an animal rescue centre in Beddington Park.

I'd love to pop up sometime Mike. I've steered clear of events thus far because they seem tournament based. I'd love to pop up and play a few though ...... you're not too far away.

I'll give the website a look mate. Thanks very much. 👍

nice find. you are going to have fun getting that backbox back on :D - I got mine from a guy who had it in his man cave for 15 years and had barely played it! It was lovely.

before you do anything - do this ASAP.

Get the translite off an check the batteries on the CPU board and make sure they aren't leaking all over the mainboard.

Things to check on Star Trek TNG:

1: New balls, https://pinparts.co.uk/products/chrome-steel-pinball
2: Drop target at the top for the Borg lock, worth buying a couple of spare of these as they tend to go regularly. https://pinparts.co.uk/products/single-target-drop-down-arm-left-ij-nf-sttng-t2-jm
3: Cliffy on the Neutral zone hole, depending on the state of the ramps worth considering the ramp cliffies if there are any small cracks. https://www.pinball.co.uk/spares-accessories/neutral-zone-protector/
4: new rubbers, on this game titan's make all the difference - please don't wreck the game with jelly rubbers ! https://www.pinballshop.nl/playfield-parts/rubbers/flipper-bands/titan-competition-silicone-rings/
5: Flipper rebuild (top priority) https://www.pinball.co.uk/spares-accessories/flipper-rebuild-kit-1991-1999-a-13524-8/
6: Cabling of the turrets is often stretched just keep an eye out on it. https://www.pinball.co.uk/game-specific-parts/star-trek-tng/cannon-looms-for-star-trek-tng-h-17067/
7: Pinbits outlane extenders, allow a bit more of a forgiving nudge to keep the ball in play. https://www.pinbits.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=306
8: Get foam cleaner from Phil to clean up: https://www.pinball.co.uk/spares-accessories/foaming-spray-cleaner/
9: Then get some silicon free carnuba wax and wax the playfield like you'd ax your car. Halfords. get an applicator to put it on and take it off.
options:
6: Color DMD is a must for this game
7: mirror blades (talk to Chris B Pinballs he might have some)
8: pin sound but ONLY if you replace the speakers otherwise its rubbish.
9: Personally LEDs are definitely worth it on this.

If want to have a look at mine I'm just down the road from you, out of town until Friday though!

Neil.
