hey all , picked up a disgusting star wars a few weeks back and it's over at Matt Adams's undergoing some serious life support.. It's a truly filthy machine possibly one of the worst ever and has a broken main ramp , this has been bodged together with rubbers , has anyone got a spare one or know where I might find one?
Also the death star is battered and also needs a left hand side sling , I know these are about but wondered if anyone had a spare one floating about .
Have attached pictures of the star wars in all its horror show glory :)
Think Matt might do a restoration log on this ,as the idea was to buy a nice one and then re decal it so the project has slightly stumbled as its already turned into a huge money pit as pretty much everything has had to be replaced so far.
Many Thanks
Will

I have a load of old plastics from my DE SW that have been swapped for new ones, some are probably ok (cant remember, just swapped them although some where missing)

If you need any let me know and ill see what state they are in etc

Ouch, and I thought mine needed a serious clean after a few years in a Greek pub! Gotta respect a worthwhile rescue job though.

Phoenix Arcade did a limited run of cab decals by the way, I got some and they're superb quality, maybe you could ask if they have any left, he did a few weeks ago. http://www.phoenixarcade.com/ Don't bother with the pinballcenter one, they're apparently pants. I've also got a spare repro translite if you need one, not perfect but you'd have to look closely to tell.

I'd love to see a log of this. Matt's certainly got it handled but I'd be happy to try to help if you hit any table-specific sticking points given all the time and research I've put into mine (still in progress) and where to get various parts. In fact if it'd be alright I'd love to pop over and see it while it's being worked on (happy to lend a hand while I'm there too) if it's anywhere south of London.

Great stuff :)
The plan is to custom decal the entire machine , there are some cool ideas floating around as in removing coin door and adding Stren Star Trek LE type cab lights to it ... However with most of my ideas @Matt Adams normally brings me back down to earth when told its gonna cost more than £20 ;)
But Yep I agree a shop log would be really cool ..... Come on Matt get one up :)

@todler has very kindly come to the rescue with a ramp which is winging its way over to mats now

Ohhhh they do look good :)
Think this Star Wars is destined to be complete custom decals , was thinking of using some of the star wars digital concept art
And @Rav is going to vector data east and Star Wars logos over the final images , there are so many but have a few contenders and the idea is to start one side episode 4 and wrap around to episode 6 a bit like how the artwork on WoZ has been done

That sounds like a really nice way to do the custom decals!

I'm going for a "closest to the original look as possible but decent quality repros are fine" approach with mine. (Especially since the pinballcenter plastics are meant to be good quality and the alternative is spending 400 quid on NOS! http://www.pinballuniverse.com/PinballPartsRare.htm )
