Stern munhster le pinball grandad has nodded off.When the ball lands in grandads labatory it sticks there and chucks out on ball search.Also when lit up it doesnt activate lab playfield feature This is happening on a regular basis say 5 out of 6 games It looks like a switch fault but before I wade in with size 12 pit boots on and a fistfull of plumbers solder any one get any tips on how to solve this conundrum?

The switch at Grandpa is flakey, the legs break of it due to impact. Widely reported over on Pinside
People replacing the switch and putting hot glue or sealant between the legs to give it support.

Checked switch holding bracket and its fine removed switch and checked switch off m/c actually collywobbles did .Put switch back onto m/c and on switch test no bleep.Where to now?Fellow pinball nuts.Cheers billy butler.
Could be the crimp pins in the connector onto the node board. Had a quite a few problems with these. Have found them snapped in the connector housing and they then become intermittent or worse.
Replaced a few now. They are fiddly buggars though!

Checked node board 9 orange connector 12 and connecting wire in 4 slot and all seems ticketyboo.Is it possible for a switch to test good on cotinuity and still be duff.the plot thickens .Where to next?Cheers for help billy butler.
I had one Munsters LE I went out to for several problems and found that the pins had broken inside the molex connectors. I suggest stern had a bad batch. Disconnect the switch off the wires and physically touch them together - then you can see if its that side or the switch side.
Did you actually identify which 2 wires belong to the respective switch and check those pins in the housing at the node board? You may have to force them out of the housing to check properly.
Also, if you go into switch tests and try moving the connector (push it sideways) while still connected you might get the switch to work?

Took wires off switch and coupled together and no beep on test therefore not the switch.Took orange connector off node board 9 and pulled purple and white wire it seemed solid black ground also solid.HOW much force do you need to apply to prove bad molex. connector?What else can it be .A puzzled billy b.

Take glass off the game and start a game, take the ball roll it into the scoop whilst taking a video, then maybe play it back in slow motion.
Could be the scoop protector is affecting the way the ball sits.

after a thorough check by coolywobbles and ty the indication is a fault on the node board .yippee .goodbye WB.
Col removed the crimped wire out of molex n0 4 slot and guess what it had snapped.On monday this week col re crimped the wire with the minute crimp plugged it back in and no beep.IS it possible that the snapping of the crimp had inexplicably knacked the node board?Any answers please.Col will redo the crimp and see what happens next.The long running saga continues . Collywobbles wakes up grandad.Col popped along at 9.20 this morning and tidied up my naff soldering on grandad switch.This was not the problem.On checkig orange molex he found the black wire crimp in no 10 port on removal had snapped. similar to crimp on purple white wire on no 4 port.Wearing a super dooper head led lamp and magnifier set he replaced the gammy crimp.Good egg fault found and now i can play the m/c again.Bab crack for a m/c i have owned for 3 yrs and only 247 plays.Lets see what stern say.cheers billy butler.
