Multimeter recommendations

An old chestnut I know .......

But can someone reccommend a decent meter please, something easily acquired from a uk based seller.

Ideally one that can identify ac ripple accurately, and maybe also measure capacitance. Auto-selection of ranges would be a nice to have

I know little about the subject. Work gave me a Fluke meter. Have a look on their website to see if it does what you want it to do.

I have the China Fluke which is great, nice big display, its not a fake, just says on the box not for export, expect its all to do with VAT, but somebody has shipped a load over here from China.

But for £60 dont think you will find anything as good, its very fast, has a huge display which also has a back lite.

LIDL are selling multimeters for 9.99 at the moment. About as cheap as you can get one - made by Powerfix. Can't vouch for the quality though

I bought a fluke over 30 yrs ago. It wasnt cheap but its still going strong. You get what you pay for.
